Default Racing slick tires for my ISF

Hello everybody,

I am looking for some suggestions for which size, make and model of racing slick tires I should get my for my ISF to take to the quarter mile track come spring. I am all for buying a second set of rims for the back as well so I can just mount them on a different set instead of having to change my tires from the stock set. Obviously I am only going to buy the back 2 and its ok if I just get regular ugly black rims.

Suggestions please...



Also, I have an upgraded ISS Forged DES exhaust and a Takeda intake, combine that with some racing slick tires and a first timer at the track, what kind of numbers should I be happy with for my first runs? 12.8?

12.8 is for a stock isf. I did 12.7 with just a Borla exhaust even though I messed up one of my shifts. My friend VJ did 12.3 with muffler and secondary cat delete and drag radials, but it depends a lot on your location and track.

look in the drag racing sticky thread. you will get your tire options and good instructions on how to obtain the best times. good luck.

245/40/18 Mickey Thompson Street ET's are the best bet. I use them and have been very happy.

+1 on the tire specs. You can also try M&H Racemasters they are sticky as HELL! You won't be disappointed with either MT or MH.
