I'm about 120miles away from the lexus dealer. I took my ISF to the dealer yesterday for oil change. not really happy with it. long story, you can find out on my previous post:(
Anyway the car is 2012,so still under factory warranty. If I take the car to my local shop for oil change. if something happens to the car engine, will lexus still fix my car:(

It doesn't but for a more expensive car like the IS-F I still think it's nice to have "official" maintenance records that show up on the car's history.
I live about 180 miles from the nearest Lexus dealership so I recently just went to the local Toyota Dealership for an oil chance. This was the first time in forever I didn't do it myself on one of my cars. They finished pretty quickly and did the usual inspection for just about $10 with me bringing my own oil. I'll definitely go back.
If you do go somewhere to have it done rather than doing it yourself, you'll likely want to grab whatever oil you prefer beforehand and the cartridge filter for our car, since a typical oil change place, or even a Toyota dealership probably won't carry it.

After giving a Toyota dealer 6 quarts of Red Line for my Supra and having them pour in Pennzoil instead, I will never, ever, have a dealership do an oil change. The engine varnished inside in 6k miles and had been previously pristine for many years. Never again.
