Default Aux/USB button not working

Got an iPod shuffle for Xmas and I plugged it into USB port in the armrest and when I push the Aux/USB button on the radio nothing happens, fm stereo still plays and screen never says USB or Aux. I tried pushing the button when iPod is not plugged in and still nothing. Sat radio,cd buttons all function properly. Car going in tomorrow for oil change and I was gonna ask dealer about it. Car is 2011 if that matters

I traded my 08 for an 11, haven't updated my info. I checked my manual and it says iPod shuffle is not compatible in my car so that is probably the issue

Use an audio cable and plug into aux port. Problem solved. Been doing that for years with no issues

My 2011 RX350 has same problem with the USB connection too, could the USB extend cable be broken if the weather was too cold? Have you tried to connect it direct to USB port low inside the compartment box? It used to work before, anyone have any idea what is wrong with it?

I just use an aux cable and it works now. I read the manual on my car and it says iPod shuffle is not compatible using USB port

I have a 2012, my USB port sometimes doesn't recognize/show up on the screen of having my iPod or iPhone connected...

I either have to unplug the usb and plug it back in (which works very rarely) or I have to turn off the car and start it back up!

So the iPod shuffle works if you use a cable and plug it into the USB port in the center console?

I have a 2011 F and the only way my shuffle works is if I plug it into the aux outlet in center console. The USB outlet does not work with my iPod shuffle

I use just a regular USB storage device and it works fine.
