Rohana RC10 20 inch on ISF
Fellow CL ISF owners, I am reaching out to see what u think of my next possible MOD.
I own a 2009 Matador Red ISF (hope to start a "Matador Build" thread soon with pics). I am planning to build a car that is fast (performance mods) and looks good for shows and events, however, I do not plan to track my car (okay maybe I would try it once if I had the chance). I plan to "black out" my car (wheels, exhaust tips, emblems, etc...) and based on my research I am looking at the the following setup:
Rohana RC10 20 inch black wheels
Specs = 20X9 +35, 20X10 +40
Tires 245/30/20 & 285/25/20
(below is what this setup should look like...except I don't plan to lower it quite this low)
I did a weight analysis and this setup (wheels & tires) will only add 21 lbs to my car...I have already done Sikky headers and Joe Z exhaust so that should shave a few pounds so maybe I am only at about a15 lb gain with this setup?
So what does everyone think? Does anyone see a probelm with this set up? And please do not provide guidance on how 19in wheels will handle better as I am aware of that but like I said I don't plan to track the car...thank u so much for any help u can provide!!!

There is a big difference between unsprung rotational weight and the weight that constitutes everything the suspension is holding up. If your wheel and tire package adds 21 lbs, that affects everything the suspension is doing and makes it that much harder to spin and stop spinning those wheels. Essentially what I'm trying to say is adding 21 lbs of wheel/tire weight and taking away 21 lbs from the body somewhere is definitely not an equal exchange.
BTW, the wheels shown in the pic look great. Not my cup of tea though since they are big and heavy...at least based on the weight gain you were stating. Anyway good luck with your build and enjoy your ISF.

One more question (if u don't mind)...if I went with the Volk 19 X 8.5 / 9.5...and I don't want tire bulge but not really stretched look either would I go 235/35/19 / 265/30/19 or up size more to 245/35/19 / 275/30/19...I saw Joe Z had the 235/265 setup on the Axis 19 x 8.5 / 9.5 at https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-f-wheels.html and it looks SICK!

I would also recommend looking at Wedssport wheels. If you like the look of the Volk G2s, I bet you will like the look of the Wedssport SA-60M. You could get those in a little more conservative offsets and put a little wider tires on them and still be right about flush (flush IMO is even with the fenders, not bulging past them).
The SA-60Ms are less expensive, about the same weight as the G2s (a little lighter than stock), and look absolutely fantastic. You can get them in 19x8.5 +38 and 19x9.5 +48. This will allow you to safely run a 255/35R19 front tire and a 285/30R19 rear tire. This is 10mm wider front and rear than I would advise running with the G2s, and it is only 0.1" shorter front and rear than the stock tire height.
Regarding tire bulge...some may think that 255mm on 8.5" & 285mm on 9.5" has a little bulge. I disagree. I think it looks great. That's up to individual tastes. I have 245mm on 8" and 275mm on 9" and I don't think there is any bulge.
...oh, and you can always hit up FIGS regarding BC Forged wheels. They have a ton of different gorgeous forged wheels. They are fully built to your specs and the price is decent.

In terms of looks, I think those Rohana look amazing!
Volk VR G2 +45 - no bulging that I can perceive. This is not a very aggressive set up.
245/35/19 - Front Continental DW x 8.5
275/30/19 - Rear Continental DW x 9.5
I run spacers 10mm on the front for city driving (but not on the track)

Thanks for responding and I love your setup...is your car dropped at all?
Also from what I have seen and what you did I would assume I could go 19 x 8.5 +35 (ft) and 19 x 9.5 +42 (rr) and still be save from rubbing unless I drop it? Thanks again for responding.

You can go more aggressive than +42 on both front and back without rubbing issues. I just played it safe for maximum happiness of daily driving. With the spacers (10mm = +35) on the front I rub the inner liner slightly. I would think +38 would be perfect.
The curb entrance to my driveway is about 2.5 inches

Based on the replies so far and some PM's, my head has been hurting thinking about which wheels to go with...I found this data about the Rohana RC10 wheels

That means the front wheels are only 5 pounds heavier than stock and the rear are only 2 pounds heavier...I just can't seem to get these wheels out of my head...they just look friggin awesome in the ISF

It shouldn't be a matter of opinion to determine whether or not you want a certain wheel. the design is great. The glossy black accents the concavity well. If these are the wheels that you fixate on, you might as well get them or else regret not doing so later.
The 21 pound addition to the car might not seem like much, especially if you're not concerned with the taking to the track, but it will make the F a little sluggish in terms of acceleration and braking. I've seen some friends with 20s on their Fs and they're fine with it. It's a matter of personal choice.

I love the way those wheels look. They are perfect. What the others are saying is correct. You will drop performance very slightly with a heavier wheel but its usually only going to be stuff that would effect track performance and lap times. Bigger wheels will decrease acceleration and increase braking distances. Just slightly though. Every lb of unsprung weight is like adding 4 lbs of weight to the body . We are talking negligible numbers. Since you are not building a track beast and you are aware there may a slight difference Id say go for it.
On my last car (LS460) I went from stock 18" wheels to 22" wheels. NOW THAT YOU CAN FEEL and really only if I was hard on the brakes or if I floored it from a stop.

I was looking into getting those same wheels for awhile, but when I remembered why I bought my F in the first place (performance) I stayed away from a 20" wheel. I went with a wheel that would still compliment the performance of the car and at the same time looks good (IMO) and doesn't detract from what Lexus had in mind when they built the car. My suggestion is, if you are still on the fence, to keep looking and not settle for a bigger heavier wheel only because it looks good. Wait till you find the whole package of looks, performance, and and suitable price range for you. Just my 2 pennies.

What price range on the wheels you are showing in the pic. They do look great. I assume FIGS can still get BC forged wheels for us, and you could probably get any of the styles shown in the link for much cheaper than most custom forged wheel manufacturers.

I checked these BC Forged Wheels out and saw a few wheels I liked as much as the Rohana RC10...however, I could not find any pricing, offset or weight information??? They appear to be fully customized...so I assume I need to call and find out? Like I said I liked quite a few of them but liked these two the best (on the second one, I would have them do it entirely in Black)
