Oiled filter should be fine. Happened to me once. But I realized I hadn't closed the air box properly after switching the filter

glad you got it resolved. Did you install the filter from K&N as it came ?

Yes I followed the directions exactly. Even watched the install video more then once.

Thats why i got rid of the K&N & any oiled filters

Took her into the dealer today. All is good no problems. It was the mass air flow sensor.

The MAF is easy to clean without dealer intervention.
Takes minutes to do, especially if you are just removing the K&N oily residue.

AFE is a good dry filter its what I have on my is350 now

K&N is a cone filter not a drop in.
Have to measure up and see what will fit in an aFe Pro Dry.

OPs situation sounds just like what happened to me a couple weeks ago.. I'll see what kind of filter is in there (replace if needed), and clean the MAF.
