Did anyone on this thread fix their steering by replacing the Steering ECU or replacing the entire rack? Looking for options here. My 2011 also exhibits the same annoyance. I brought it up with the dealer and they don't acknowledge the problem exists (cant duplicate). The TSIB also references pre-2011 ISF's... but it looks like the same condition.

The ECU fix, was to upgrade to a 2010+ but you already have it.

I had my steering rack replaced and it fixed it. It took 5+ trips to the dealer to finally get them to duplicate. What I did was take notes of the areas where I can replicate it (most of the time), then let them drive on that stretch of freeway.

i don't know if this is related but on my old 08 isf my power steering went out on me, they replaced the steering rack and ecu but with the same year parts so no upgraded one's which i was pissed about it. after putting new parts in they couldn't aligned the car properly and blame my brand new ps4s tires for it. long story short i ended having an accident the night i picked my car up and my car got totaled

Good God pal, I'm really sorry that happened to you. What a disaster.
I have never in my life had a good alignment. I wish I had a shop I trusted to do my car correctly (sub frame adjustment and all). It hasn't been right since I hit a rock two years ago (& I've had it "aligned" since).
Interesting read on this thread. I haven't had an issue with this yet.

Too bad you are in Illinois. Good alignment is not rocket science.

I have a friend who spent time in the can. What I learned supporting her throughout is that the true definition of incarceration is the "loss of any element of service."
I feel this way in 4 of 5 instances of automotive service in Cook County IL.

I had this same issue on my 2012. I had the entire rack replaced under warranty after finally finding a technician who could duplicate.

I replaced my steering ECU with the 2013+ version. I have not experienced this problem since.

^^^^I think it has to be calibrated through Techstream @ the dealership?

I would love to get the 2013 steering ECU as an upgrade to the steering, but I think they're pricey!
