I own a 2011 ISF and I'm taking it to the quarter mile track this spring for the first time. Before I get there an bite off more than I can chew... How does my ISF stack up against 2008 and up Mustangs, Camaro's and Chargers. With the new 5.0 in the Mustangs, I think it would be a good race... Unsure how I would stack up against a Hemi Charger or Camaro though...
Please discuss...
Thank you.

You will be fine, I ran right with all of them except for the C6 Z06. Those muscle cars can be tough to launch, I raced a GT500 that was having a tough go at it.
You should buy my barely used drag radials with rims to make it even faster.

pretty sure a C7 and new stang will eat an ISF. It will be very close and up to driver though. If the stang is manual you may win because of gearing and the quickness of the shift. Other than that I don't see you beating those cars.
The C7 is lighter, and more power. The mustang is the same weight but more power.
The rest of the other cars SRT8's and C6's and what not should be close but you should win...
Just look at the 1/4 mile times to figure it out.. I think stock C6's even do 110-117 vs most ISf's do like 109-115

Make sure to remove the spare tire/jack/owners manual/floor mats
and roll up with only a couple gallons of 93 octane gas, sport mode, manual shifting.
If you are serious, headers, exhaust can get you 12 second flat in quarter mile...........add drag radials and 11.7-11.8 ish are within reach.
bye-bye C7![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

And Cayman has excellent control over his car, in near perfect conditions. He know's his stuff. I wouldn't expect too many 11 second ISF's even with drag radials without a nitrous setup.
Also, I really think that 2010, 2011 and 2012 ISF's are slower at the drag strip than the 2008 and 2009. No concrete evidence. My issue at the drag strip was not enough power at the launch with the drag radials, slllloooww 60 foot. I power braked the hell out of it trying to get the RPM's up as high as possible to the point that I got yelled at, but it never improved my 60 foot time.

How about the 4.6 mustangs of the 90's and early 2000's. Im sure we should destroy them...
Seems mixed feelings but I will definetly go up against all the hemi's and 5.0 mustangs.

The IS-F has more than enough power if not more than most standard domestic V8's. I think the 5.0 mustangs are around 400 hp, vettes are just under 400 (non zo6/zr1) so it would be a fair fight at the track. They ony thing they have on you is tuning options where they will have the advantage

Yes, unless ur driving a torque monster like a viper - I'd be too ckn to turn it off bc it can get stupid on you in a flash. I guess u could kill t/c in a new viper using launch control- but it would be a trip

I do agree with your testing of the 60 foot. I've tried the raising the rpm method a few times and never once had any luck. Recommended method is to just mash the throttle on the final yellow just before the green. You can improve that method even more by learning to apply a very slight load on the engine (think 8-900 range rpm) right on the final yellow but no sooner and then by green have the car at WOT. I feel like I get a momentum effect off the line.
