I think I understand the words that are coming out of your mouth...

Regardless, I R Engineer and this is going to continue until I have something functional, or I come to the realization that because we don't have a flat bottom a rear diffuser is benign.

update...

Put it all together this weekend and ran into a road block. After assembling the strakes onto the base it became too stiff to bend to the profile of the bumper and stock under diffuser.

This means that I either need to adjust the strakes to conform to the stock profile, or replace the stock rear under diffuser entirely with a box type unit.

Not kicking what your doing cause you have made it miles farther than i would have but Euroteck motorsports.... builder of areo parts for AMG already makes what your creating. They have wind tunnel simulated theirs and the whole bit.... i think its like 725 bucks for full carbon. http://www.euroteckmotorsports.com/i...t=41&pageid=52

I've seen it, and it's a nice piece. I just wish there were more strakes, and that it protruded towards the rear bumper edge more.

And I don't believe it was air tunnel tested; it was simulated as a standalone piece by AD software. You're better off doing an oil drip test.

End of the day, without the entire underbody being covered these pieces are purely aesthetic. I'm amazed Varis, shine, or any other diffuser manufacturer hasn't made a functioning unit for the F.

Not to knock Euroteck motorsports but if they actually wind tunnel tested the diffuser then they can should provide wind tunnel testing reports with true simulated images (to show they actually did something) rather than a cheap drawn up simulated diffuser image lol. (which is pretty generic since that image is exactly what a diffuser does anyways)

Not to say the diffuser doesn't actually do anything, but shove any aero piece under the car with extended fins is technically functional, however the true value of a wind tunnel tested piece like a spoiler, canard, splitter or diffuser is that it works as efficiently as possible.

Think Voltex.
