POLL: Did you or would you get extended warranty for your ISF?
Looking to buy my friends isf, 2010 model with about 22,000 miles. Pretty much mint condition.
I went the dealer yesterday and they said I can get an extended warranty to 8 years / 100,000 miles.
I only put on about 12-13,000 miles per year, so the years would run out before the mileage limit.
They want about $3400 for the extended warranty.
Wanted to know if you think it's worth it???
Did you buy an extended warranty? and/or Would you buy the extended warranty?

I got mine for $2800 from Toyota od Greenfield in Mass. Troy Dietrich. Google his name . He is an online warranty celebrity. I have purchased Lexus warranties from him for my GS350, LS460, and ISF. He is always 500-800 cheaper than the dealers. When I bought my LS warranty the dealership here in town was in disbelief that I could get it for that cheap.

or google toyota of greenfield in Massachusetts and just ask for Troy.
You send him a mileage statement saying what the mileage is with a copy of the temp registration. He will call you when he receives it and get the credit card info. After that its about 4-5 days and BOOM,....... the warranty is in your hands and already inputted into the national Lexus system

Got extended warranty from lexus for 2 years at a cost of just over £1400.
My car has just over 50k miles on it. I have had both head lights replaced (£800 each) due to moisture in them. Also had transmission oil pipe replaced at a coat of roughly £500. I have owned my 2008 f for 6 months and the warranty has already paid for its self.

And me. It would have to be at "cost" whatever that means, but even then, as soon as you put a wheel on the track, your warranty is toast for anything important.

this car will most likely be insanely reliable, that being said I still bought a warranty. Every component in the drivetrain and powertrain, especially everything regarding the fuel and engine management systems, are more advanced and expensive than literally every other street car on the road. It was just a good little piece of mind just in case something breaks in one of those critical systems hehe.

After I got my F this past July, I was going through the glove box a couple of weeks later and found a 7yr / 100k Platinum extended warranty booklet with an original selling price of $2,900.00 with the original owner signup information. Apparently, the original owner purchased the warranty when they purchased the car new. The warranty was never mentioned when I was signing the paperwork and I never thought to bring it up because it was still under warranty.
I had my local dealership check on the status of the warranty and transfer options. They attempted to contact the original owner and gave them the opportunity to receive a partial refund. After 10 days and no response, they transferred the warranty into my name with no transfer fee. An added extra bonus for sure
I'll probably never need it, but I'm glad I have it.

I did not buy an extended warranty and would not.
In the past, I've purchased extended warranties on new cars and they have NEVER paid off. First off, most are overlapping the manufactures warranty so you really only get a couple years IF you didn't put too many miles on the vehicle.
On a side note, my brother had one a BMW X5 and the engine, transmission, door motors, CV joints....etc where replaced with the warranty. So... it a gamble based on the car.
Lastly, I looked at the reviews of the car and how many times the body/drive train/parts had been changed on the IS-F - which we all know has not changed drastically if at all in most cases. Thus, you have some great analytical information that shows how solid the car is.
