Default Used or CPO

I'll soon be looking to buy an ISF, preferably 2011-2013. I know that buying CPO may be better. Will it also be safe to buy a USED ISF that isn't classified as CPO? I know Lexus make reliable cars. I'm just looking for advice and other people's experiences buying used. Thank you.

It depends on what you're looking for. Color combo, mileage, condition of vehicle, etc. are just a few that come to mind. Some CPOs are marked a bit higher due to Lexus' inspection. But should you find one that isn't a CPO and you like how it looks inside and out after inspecting it yourself, I'd suggest getting that one over one that may be a CPO. You can always opt for the extended warranty or search for quotes to obtain one. CPO gives potential buyers peace of mind, but to me, it's getting the car that you want with the color and options you want, and more than likely you'll find one from a private seller rather than the dealer. Best of luck in your search, and welcome to Club Lexus!

Not in the ISF forum, but this thread may help you make decision.

Also take a look at what was replaced and reconditioned in the CPO process. For example, I purchased mine as a CPO and in order to get it to that standard Lexus replaced all 4 tires, front and rear brake pads, front rotors, reconditioned the front seats (alpine white) and removed/repaired the slight curb rash on a wheel. On top of that you get an additional 3 year/100k warranty. When looking around the markup for a CPO more than made up for itself if I were to be the one paying for just the reconditioning alone, therefore buying it CPO'd was a no brainer for me. Best of luck!

Thank you all. This is great information. I didn't think of buying from a private owner, but now I'm actually leaning towards it. Thank you.
