I could not stop the spinning. Any and all tips would be helpful. I would spin in 1st and 2nd and even got swirly on the 4th run. I was loading it to about 1000rpm for launch. Should I not do that at all? A guy at the track said after I got eliminated that I should of not loaded at all and come off the line at half throttle until im sure it would stick...

Help please!
Have you try to run with traction control ON to see how that goes? Your slip would be helpfull.

Could you please post your best time slip? 60' times will certainly kill your times and so does launching higher than off idle. As you discovered loading your launch will only result in traction loss off the line. Also not sure how the track prep was there, but with street tires I suggest just doing a quick burn out after you drive around the water box. This gets most of the crud off the tires as well as any water that you may have picked up even driving around the water box. Also keep the car in sport/manual mode and shift right after you bump the rev limiter. Not sure why this is more effective, but it is and is one of the reasons I wish we had an extra few hundred RPM to play with as the SARD tune is supposed to provide. Other pointers, keep the tire psi as high as possible. I run max tire psi in the fronts and start at 36psi in the rear and go down from there if there is traction issues.

Other than that keep your car lean when you hit the drag strip. Low fuel, dump the junk in the trunk and engine covers and you'll have improved results. Removing the engine covers also helps the engine cool down in between runs. This car also likes a few back to back runs and then a nice 30 minute or so cool down. Once cool down is over get back out there and you'll see even better times.

might be helpful to find out your DA (density altitude), as well. if your traps were commensurate with your ET (ie...if its less than 110 mph), then youre not making the HP that you should and thats a product of density altitude. there are apps for your phone that can calculate that for you.

i use AutoDens...

My best slip of the night

60' 2.198
330' 5.914
660' 8.896
990' 11.350
1320' 13.537
107.42mph

I was in M sport mode all night, I never missed any shifts and I hit them all around 6k rpm. I had only the 1st stage of Trac Control off, I never fully turned it off.

There was no room to drive around the water at this track, I am forced to drive through the water and do a burnout.

A quick calculation from the mhdra website gave me this...

Density Altitude: 4596 feet
Relative Density: 87.23 %

Just curious, but what is the altitude of the track. That DA is certainly a power robber. Also the water on the tires and shifting early at 6000rpm certainly didn't help your times.

You gotta do a bigger burnout (til you see smoke behind you)... and also shift later. You need to be bouncing off the rev limiter. Here is my run (I was on DR's but you can hear my shifting from inside the car at the 0:30 mark.

The altitude of the track is roughly 2300 ft.

Through 3rd I was shifting right at the limit, in 1st and 2nd I was trying to short shift from the spin.

Should I really do that big of a burnout with street tires? I will be buying new ones shortly if I have to burn out that much...

Again, I take it as constructive criticism, so any and all suggestions are good.

Thank you!

Did you have traction control off? Both stages?

Your DA is pretty damn high. Corrected...you ran a 12.8 @ 113.

Still work on your launches. Just understand that your altitude is gonna affect your times, more so than the rest of us near sea level.

Wow, I really don't feel as bad now, thought I let everyone down there... hahah!

I am looking at buying 2 Nitto NT05's for the rear. I have to keep the tread ware above 150 or I will be put into a higher bracket when doing heads up racing at my events here...

I'm thinking this is the best tire out there for the tread ware rating required... Unless someone knows something better....

Remember, 150+ tread ware rating.
