Btw does anyone have a video of the stock exhaust set up with gutted primaries? I'm wondering how much more sound is produced. I would think not much more loudness but there could be a hint of drone? Not sure with stock mufflers.

Gutted cats are your solution. You can't tell visually this mod was done and there is no smell as the secondary cats of your stock exhaust will take care of that.

I deleted my cats and replaced it with a straight pipe. You can get some drone on the hwy if your driving the car in auto mode but in manual mode you can control the drone.

Do you possibly have pics of this setup?

Which cats? The ones in the manifolds or the ones in exhaust piping further down?

I bought a 2nd set of manifolds to cut up and weld in pipe where the cats are when time permits.

I cut them all out and the res too ! My muffler guy cut out the cats and welded a new straight pipe to the Mid pipe.

Essentially that's what you're doing here, the term straight pipe means no cats, muffler or resonator. By pounding the cat out of the OEM pipe you have created a "straight pipe" with no cutting, welding or fabrication to the actual piping.it would make no sense to cut and weld the OEM pipe up when you can pound the insides out for the same result. Either way if you fail an inspection it's going to be costly and time consuming to replace the cats.

Some people also weld in a pipe the same inner diameter of the header. This would remove the turbulance that would be experienced from the open bulge of where the cat use to be.
