Default Just Replaces OEM Rotors

Hi All,

At 29,500 miles (bought it new almost 7 yrs ago), I replaced all four OEM rotors (it had been really embarrassing to hear the almost intolerable brake noise at every stop signs/lights) on my '08 IS F with "cryogenically treated" Centric rotors. I didn't replace the OEM brake pads.

Results (almost 500 miles later): no more braking noise at every stops, brake dusts are negligible, and I feel no dip in stopping power.

I would question where the noise originated from, and would've suggested you attempted to replace the pads (cheaper and probably the actual cause of the noise that commonly offends OEM ISF's). I recall replacing my pads made a world of difference for noise/dust.

I will have to change my brakes at around 30k myself (currently at 17200 on my 2009). What is the recommended setup for everyday driving ? O.E. rotors w aftermarket pads to eliminate the brake dust ?

there was a TSIB for noisy pads on the ISF. I think it was the rear. As long as its quiet and you are happy

shouldn't have to replace rotors for a long time, especially the rears. For a daily setup though, I have Raybestos rotors and Autozone Duralst Golds pads. Virtually no dust

Sean, you' re right that pads are cheaper to replace than rotors. In my case, I purchased pads and rotors and decided to go with the latter just because I wanted to experience "cryogenically treated" Centric rotors (and so far so good).

RMA, that choice will be up to you.

We are back on these forums now and have a couple different options for pad and rotor depending on how the vehicle is used and what the driver prioritizes in a pad.

For quiet, low dusting street pads that don't completely compromise performance, we offer Project Mu NS400, Carbotech 1521 compound and Porterfield R4-S.
If you're looking for a more aggressive street pad we offer Ferodo DS2500 and the amazing Endless MX72 or MXRS.
We have the track guys covered as well with Project Mu Club Racers, Carbotechs entire XP line and Endless' race compounds just incase anyone was wondering

We have access to any rotor from centric and for guys who don't mind spending a little more for some high end single piece rotors, we offer the Project Mu Club Racer rotors in either a slotted or drilled finish.

Please PM us if you have any questions!

I have over 100k miles on my original rear rotors. They're still a long way from worn out. They hardly wear at all if you know how to use brakes effectively.
