beaten by a 2014 S4

I'm by no means a frequent light-to-light showdown kinda driver...but, occasionally it's gotta be done.
Post on first page says ISF's aren't fast...what I am certain of is that my F is REALLY fast and I've had a lot of fun putting several cars/drivers in their place.
There's always a faster car, so who really cares anyway? But once I breach 3000 rpm in 2nd gear, I usually pull pretty significantly against other cars. And I'm essentially running stock with rear muffler delete.
To each their own

Lexus Champion
I think the guy was referring to its current competition. Not being a fanboi but ISF's are quick but if you look at its competition NOW the Germans have Lexus beat. Burger Tuning purchased a M3 and did a baseline dyno before they threw their JB4 stage 1 tune and completely stock it put down 427whp/429wtq. With only the tune it put down 479whp/484wtq. Some modded F's need I/H/E just to break into the 400's. The new C63 will be using the new 4.0tt V8 unit which I imagine will be woken up with a tune as well. Lexus really needs to step up and start putting F/I models in with the lineup. I suppose the IS200t is a start though. But power and acceleration isnt everything I would still have a F over BMW and MB,

Regardless of its current competition, my 12.2@118 is fast for a DD no matter how you slice it. A BPU new S4 does not represent a threat unless it's from a dig, in which case any AWD car is a threat.

This will not get the full amount of performance out of your car. You need to be in manual mode and you need to slightly kiss the rev limiter in each gear to get the most out of her.

I mean even a small bolt on turbo Evo/wrx on e85 is going to put the hurting on the F and they are a dime a dozen around here.
Other than an i/h/E F bullying stock cars, it's not really hanging with much of the stuff out there today once the modding starts. 10-15 years ago a 115-118 trap car was pretty fast. There's just a lot of fast stuff out there today, with a vast aftermarket. Running into 120-135+mph Street cars isn't uncommon around here. It has a lot of potential but is handcuffed because of the ecu situation.
But as I said it's still a great car and makes plenty of power to be really fun(or get you in trouble). Hp/straight line performance isn't always everything in terms of fun factor, or how enjoyable something is. If buying the fastest sedan was my sole criteria I'd have likely ended up in a ctsv.
And by your own admission(in your signature) the F is the only "sporty" car you've owned. I'd assume if you owned nothing but camry's for example this car would seem really fast.

that surprising because I take my buddies 2014 s5 out every time we go for a pull...
regardless, there is something to be said about a reliable 400+hp NA vehicle... my ISF stays until I get my 997.2TT

From what I gather a full bolt on F is about a 4 second flat 0-60 so a stock S4 is quicker 0-60? I know AWD is tough to beat from a launch but I find it hard to believe the S4 is a 4 second flat 0-60 car stock

The ISF is old now, first model year was 2008 meaning design was finalized in 2006/2007, which is 7-8 years ago. Even in 2008, the ISF wasn't really fast, when 400hp+ GTO's were out 3 years prior, 5L 400hp E39 M5's were out in 2001, CTS-V's etc. Of course, the industry has moved onto faster performance especially within the past 3 years, with 4 door german supersedans (RS7, E63, M5) now putting down times just as quick (or quicker) than a stock 2009 GTR.
The ISF is purchased for low cost maintenance and reliability above all other reasons, even performance.

Those times seem about right, I'm not buying into an S4 being as fast as a fully bolted F. I drove an S4 last yr when I was trading in my 08 F and it didn't seem faster at all.
