when my buddy gave me a ride (on surface streets) in his 2010 S4, that thing felt quick. i was really surprised at how fast it felt. all the immediate, low end torque, especially speeds below 60 and when he'd punch it out of corners. i'm sure when he chips it, it'll be quicker than my F.

guys, this was on the street! an awd with DSG and launch control will take most mid to high HP rwd cars from a dig. there are way too many scenario's and variables on the street. The F is a quick car but dig racing is not it's strong suit for sure. I have raced many s4's and from stock to modded they all have gotten me out of the hole. just my .02!

I have an 08 ISF and an 07 IS350 and would bet the 350 would win up to say 40mph for these two cars. I thought there was something wrong with my ISF when I first got it, but lighter weight and favourable gearing can make up for a lack of horsepower. After that however, the ISF will blow past this and most any 300hp'ish cars easily, awd or otherwise.
The best mod is to driving skills-- practice a max launch without spinning. As soon as you break traction you've lost, so make sure you are skillful with launch. My tires are original with very low mileage on the F but they are getting hard with age to the point where I wouldn't attempt a close race anymore, so making sure your tires are fresh and grippy will help in a stoplight encounter. Getting out of the hole is everything in drag racing as they say and that awd S4 would be a tough customer in the first 4 secs of a race with its tremendous traction advantage. Your car is still faster though, as has been noted in the long run.

AWD will always beat any 2WD car from a dig. Being able to get all 4 wheels launching with out hesitation will always take down 2wd cars in a short race. I have a 250 AWD and my buddy has a 350z (slightly modded) and as slow as the 250 is, It always gets off the line quicker than my friends Z when hes spinning tires. I mean when he gets to like 2nd-3rd gear he will always overtake me but the dig always gives me a fighting chance. Plus the F/I gives it the low end torque. Dont be surprised if alot more AWD with less HO cars beat you hence why (imo)GTR's EVO's and STI's are the "CURRENT" kings of tuners

S4's and S5's are no match unless you're going from a dig, even then the F makes up ground quickly after it's rolling.
How do you launch the F without spinning anyway? It's virtually impossible unless you have sticky tires. I got spanked by a stock C63 due to ridiculous wheelspin from a dig. If I had stickier tires, it wouldn't have been such a blowout.
