PCV valve issue... advise anyone
At the track last week down in Pocono doing three, one hour road course sessions. First hour went great. Hit the track for the second hour and about 20 minutes in my car started dumping oil smoke continuously. They black flagged me and told me to check out the car. No CEL, warnings, leaks... nothing. Car seemed to be running great but they were right. I would put my foot into the throttle and the smoke poured out the exhaust. There was 15 minutes left so i said screw it and let the car sit and decided to grab lunch with the guys in my group. When I returned the car had been sitting for about an hour and a half. Started it and the problem was gone, took a chance and hit the track for the third hour, babied it in a higher gear not using the top of the RPM range. After 20 minutes of no issues I opened it up, finished up strong and made the 5 hour drive home.
Should I replace a PCV valve? Have a race shop put on a catch can with proper drain back? Leave whats not currently broke alone? Its a weird issue I have not seen on here in the 5 years owning my isf...

I've had the same issue here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ust-smoke.html
Nothing came of it, the car runs mint and no issue with oil consumption.
The stig had the same problem when he ran the ISF

I posted an issue I was having with smelling oil when I push my car hard in the turns a few months back and didn't get much response. The only suggestion I got was to look at my rear plugs but with no explanation as to why.
I assume I'm having the same issue of pushing oil. It doesnt take much oil to make a mess, a bunch of smoke or a strong smell. The oil consumtion is probably happening so slow it is hard to see over a few K miles. If you look at the CCSR cars they all run a catch can.
I am going to pull my plugs soon and figure this one out but for now I'm interested to see where this thread goes.
