How to tell if AC lip is real?
I bought a car with some mods already on, including an authentic Auto Couture front lip. I'm looking to replace the lip with something else. I took off the lip yesterday and I don't see any insignia. Here's what I was told from the seller: "the lip is a legit auto couture lip, the guy I purchased it from got it when it came out in 09 from carson toyota/lexus there were no replicas around at the time."
I'm looking to sell the lip so I need to make sure the buyer gets the correct info. Thanks.

Authentic AutoCouture front lips should have a sticker that can be affixed to the top part of the lip. What I have noticed is that when using a pressure washer or even a hose, the sticker loses its adhesive and eventually falls off. I haven't seen replica AutoCouture lips, but the fitment should be pretty tight/spot on. Taking it off after a substantial amount of time on the front bumper itself will eventually cause cracking or scratching of the lip and/or bumper, so definitely be careful when removing. There's only a handful of AutoCouture IS F lips out there, so keep that in mind when looking for a different front lip for the F.

If you purchased that particular car, I'm pretty sure it's authentic. The owner before is really big on authenticity, and he definitely takes time to get the right parts.
