PPE + JoeZ Exhaust Leak Help
#31
^^^^^Damn that sucks as well! So you went back to stock manifolds and stock exhaust after having headers and exhaust (Joe-Z/Borla) because of the smell??
Before I went to the PPE headers a couple of weeks ago the stock manifolds with the Borla exhaust was pretty quiet, why didn't you just stick with the Borla only then?

Well...3 years later and we may have finally (hopefully) solved it. As you can see in prior posts, we've tried everything.
My last attempt at this is V-Clamp:
Step 1: Uninstall headers (about 4-5hrs)
Step 2: Send header to exhaust shop to get 1 of the V-Clamp flanges welded on
Step 3: Reinstall headers (another 4-5hrs)
Step 4: Somehow get very low car on flatbed tow truck and send to exhaust shop to have the other end (Joe-Z) matched up with V-Clamp flange welded on
Step 5: Test drive, pray, listen, hope...
We ordered 2.5" V-Clamps since that is the diameter of the Joe-Z exhaust. But we quickly learned that the header side is closer to 2.25" at the flange, so you can see by the 2nd pic that it flares out a little.
So far so good but its only been a few hours. Car sounds and feels so much better.
