edit** not sure if anyone notice however once the borla is installed, you get less access to the diff fluid bolts so you may want to change that out beforehand

Peak WHP baseline: 348.92
Peak WTQ baseline: 335.73

AFTER Borla catback

Peak WHP Borla: 377.72
Peak WTQ Borla: 359.98

Peak gains of: 28.8WHP and 24.25WTQ

I knew this system would give substantial gains because of my butt dyno felt power everywhere after the exhaust.
What's really impressive is the power gains between 5500-6200. Since the Borla system eliminates the stock dip in power at around 5700rpms, it gained a whopping 44.4WHP there.

My car is very consistent on this DynoJet, it put down back to back 348 WHP baselines, and the 3 runs after the catback read 376,376 and 377.

I'll get a better graph up once I go home and scan the original sheet, I just took a pic from my phone since I had to go to work right after. To say that I'm impressed with this exhaust would be an understatement, for under $1000 it's amazing value for the power.
Nice write..gains are good for the cost....why buy joe z

Im sure the Joez has nicer bends, less restrictions, and a lot lighter. It sounded nice, but was little louder than the borla.

JoeZ is 2 lbs lighter than stock, borla is 15 lbs lighter, according to the weight thread.
The bends before the rear mufflers are straighter on the JoeZ, though.

I would buy borla...Joe z didn't net this much power. Plus joe z exhaust I don't want to pay 300 more for polished pipe I can even see when installed. Borla is definitely lighter than Joe z

Tiny little imperfections along with dents and dings might not be as detrimental to performance as one might think. MT did a test on an engine dyno by bashing headers in on a big block to see just how much power was lost by dimpling (or just smashing them all together). You can read about that and watch the video here:

Yeah, I dont think it was the performance aspect of it. When you buy something new you dont want something with dents on it due to poor packaging. At least I wouldnt, it was very minor though and I actually heard other folks here ran into the same issue when receiving the exhaust shipments.

The reason why its lighter is because we fully secure our connections with 304 SS - CNC flanges & gaskets.. (not slip fit clamps)

RWHPower on all these CATBACKS are the same.. 20 to 30 RWHP range

You shouldnt make judgements based on this dyno or that dyno..

And you're right we don't polish the pipes anymore.. They come in a very nice brushed satin finish.

Happy Modding !!

As the OP of this thread I have to agree with Joe Z.

The slip fit clamp design on the Borla is TERRIBLE, I do not wish them on my worst enemy.

My F is the 3rd car I've had a Borla exhaust on, and I've never had any trouble with the clamps-or anything else.

I have a borla with delete resonator, I could've got Joe z, but I got beat by another member. Most of my buddies have Joe z and the sound is intoxicating...don't really care about much HP, coz the car is fast enough on the track.
