GoPro External Mic ?
Planning on taking my Gopro to the Fyeah event this Sunday with the socal Fers but I want to be able to get a good point of view of the road but capture good audio quality. Anyone have any input on good places to place the camera or some external mics to use?

if you plan on rolling down teh road with the mic outside the car, i think you are gonna want to try to get a windsock or something too, otherwise it will just be all wind noise. even if you are just gonna be taking vids on foot, it would be a good idea to use one. can't wait for the vids! sounds like a cool event.

I just bought that same mic and a windcutter, extension cable, and adapted. Spent like a $100, but the audio quality is superb, my friend has the same setup and you can hear every detail from his m235i. Turbo, burble, etc..
Now I just need a good place to angle my gopro

I use an Audio Technica ATR3350 omnidirectional with a simple piece of foam over the mic. I then duck tape it at the center of the rear bumper in between the exhausts. I have experimented with the mic in different places, but this seemed to give the best sound.
I tired to keep thing simple and not spend a wad of money on something I will use seldom. This Mic also came with like a 50Ft cord so could reach to the back bumper from a front camera position.
Sound bite.......one lap going full out - small amount of wind noise, but acceptable
