Yeah, it was a fun experiment. I’m sure my time will be better on the stock diff with the r888rs.

Thanks for updating your results. On your best time of 12.49 did you have any traction issues? You certainly made improvements
with the 60ft and 1/8 mile, I'm surprised it slowed down on the top end... I would try to get the KCLV back up and try again, you've
come to far not to give it a shot. That being said I think others have gotten down to the 1.8(s) on 60ft with a drag type tire and
stock gear, so the additional gearing may not be much advantage, especially past first gear... What gear were you in at the end of the
1/4? Do you think the additional shifting may have caused the lower mph? Thanks for the experimentation its valuable info.

I’ll try again next week if it’s nice. My car is KCLV retarded and won’t go pass 20 without e30 blend. I just didn’t have time to get it up before it started today. I’m at the top of fifth, top of 3rd for stock gears. And no traction issues, a very controlled spin not dead hooking, I’m not squirrley either. And yeah, it could be an issue, more room for error, I’ve held 2nd too long and got a fuel cut on 2 runs. I’ve got video, I just have to edit it. You can’t see RPM but you can see MPH. I still am learning with it though because 2nd gear comes so damn fast, my 2-3 gear change has always been a miss (just not optimal).

I take that back, I think I’m at the bottom of 5, I considered crossing through the top of 4 but didn’t try, I’ll have to look at the video

This. You ran almost the same time with stock diff and stock tires. Sticky tires make a big difference. All in, you are now slower. Those tires would lower your time on a stock diff.

Did you check the difference as far as DA for both days along with temps? Believe it or not that makes a huge difference at the track as well.

Yes I know it does, thats the first thing i checked when i started running yesterday, first run was like a 12.6x, checked DA and it was around identical for the time of day, but 12.49: DA-1100, 72.96 Degrees. 12.52: DA-1714, 83.24 Degrees. I'm actually faster stock diff. The main difference was KCLV. Older runs i remember being at 22.8, these runs with GS350 diff is 20.3. Heres the video. first run is the 12.49.

EDIT: DA was 1557 for 12.49

Thanks for sharing your results. Predictably, this ended up being a lot like the throttle controller mod, albeit with much more work, expense, long term engine wear, increased fuel consumption, and a lower top speed.

150 wasnt too bad for an experiment, i've only had it for not even a month, i think ill be fine. Fuel consumption was nearly identical. I get the same right at 300 miles per fill up in the city. lower top speed, yes.

Although in street driving you said performance was improved and the car felt livelier...which is what I care about.

If you end up selling, please PM me.

I really felt like it did. You can just tell in the video the car stops accelerating at a high rate around 70mph. It’s fun to me in the city going stop light to stop light. I want better 1/4 mile times, otherwise I would definitely keep it

Just curious, did you have one more shift in your run compared to the OEM gearing? That would cost you 0.100 seconds by itself.

Just curious why you went with the vr tune. assuming thats vivid racing. wasn't that proven to not do anything quite awhile back?

Edit: just looked apparently now they use the dimsport as well. still curious why that over the rr tune.

I just got mad at RR when I went to purchase a package deal, tune intake and exhaust, long story short, I wasn’t happy with my experience. So I went with vivid and bought everything through them. And yes, Vivid Racing uses dimsport. I haven’t been back to the dyno but just Exhaust i was at 12.90. Tune brought me to 12.52.

This is also true, I’m at the top of fifth. It chirps fifth just before the finish. can’t remember where I was at with the stock diff, I think I was at the top of third. If that’s the case, that’s an extra .2 waiting for a gear change
