SC430 vs. IS F Models
I have an SC 430. It's got style, sport look and convertible but lets face it, it's not a race car or a road hugging porshe. My friend says the Lexus IS F model is a road hugger and a speedster and the IS F model can definately compete with porsche. Anybody have any experience with this ? Thanks.

sc430 is far from a sports car. it's a luxury cruiser.
don't get me wrong, i had a sc430 and loved it, but it's no sports car. and nothing close to what isf is offering in that sense

I think this is the first time in history that someone has confused the SC430 for a sports car, or compared one to an IS-F or 911. The SC430 is a two-seat, drop-top boulevard cruiser aimed at well-heeled retirees. Even here on CL, fully half of SC430 owners are 50 and above. Having driven the full Lexus lineup at an event several years ago, I could probably make a cogent argument that the LS460 is a better sports car than the SC430.

I have an SC430.
I chose an old SC over a new ISF just on style alone, not to mention the benefit of exposing my gorgeous suntanned skin to the envious masses here in SoCal.
Yes, the ISF is super sporty. But I can get that with any fast performance oriented sedan. They're now a dime a dozen.
You can't pull off the build quality, appeal, and reliability of the SC430 with any other hardtop convertible out there...

ISF will blow some P-cars away. Once you start talking high end Carreras/Turbo/GT3 it's game over for the F. SC/ISF are not in remotely close to belonging in the same league. Test drive an F but I must warn you that you'll instantly consider trading in the droptop for some road hugging fun.......
