Good Deal?
Local dealer has a 2013 IS-F, white with black interior. ML/Nav/Park Assist. NO moonroof. Low mileage (less than 6000). The car is not certified but they are asking $57k! Others within 150 miles of the same year with only slightly more mileage (8000-12000) are certified, have a moonroof and most are certified for around $50k-$53k. Anyone can think of a reason why they wouldn't play ball in the $53-$54k area? Would that even be close to market value?
I have looked and am aware that $57k is well above market value and not a "good deal". I'm wondering if you all can give some insight into what should be a "good deal" for an example like this.

No worries, no offense taken. I'm not interested in a moon roof, so that's not a deal breaker for me. The certified part and the cost is where I was coming here for help. I'm well aware that it isn't a good deal whatsoever in it's current form. I was hoping to get some help on where would be a more appropriate level. All my research so far has been around the $50-52k area. Just thought I could get some insight from others here.

To be honest it's priced just slightly above market value. The dealership can care less if the vehicle is equipped with a moonroof or not. It won't change the value of the car dramatically. What's killing you it's the fact that the vehicle is a 2013, 6k miles, and an IS F. They're gonna squeeze whatever they can. Which brings me to my next point, the reason why you don't see certified pre owned it's because it doesn't need it. It comes with a standard 50k bumper to bumper warranty & 72k power train. A vehicle is considered certified pre owned when the mileage lets say it's around 25k, 30k, close to the 50k factory warranty and the vehicle is in great cosmetic & mechanical condition. That's when they'll give you 3yr/100k certified pre owned. If you want it that bad negotiate for up to 100k coverage in your deal. Other than that this F is brand spanking new! Good luck

The 57k price. Nobody ever pays sticker price...at least I never do or give money down. Start at 54k and work your way down. I let go a 2014 F for $50,900 with 2,900 miles. It was advertised for $63,400. It took me over a week to negotiate and the reason why i didn't pull the trigger was because of the exterior color. One day too late an someone else purchased the vehicle. You're welcome and good luck

he's right, you can negotiate the 57k price down. it's a buyers market on these cars, they sit until the right guy comes along and it could be months. not many know what it is or appreciate what it can do. when i bought mine it had been sitting at the dealer for 3 months, but they had a red '12 come and sell in a matter of weeks. just depends. i would MUCH prefer a non-sunroof car though, so i would negotiate on the local car before driving 150 miles anywhere.
also, as someone said, no need for CPO on a car with 6k miles. it's a brand new car.

Mine sat on car lot for months, then they dropped the price on Black Friday and I bit....just 6 weeks ago... 2012 11K miles

I don't know if anyone else can speak to it (IL dwellers), but the dealerships here are brutal on these cars.
I started 2k under sticker on an 11 (Woodfield Lexus) I was looking at before I found my 08 (Westmont Lexus). They told me to scratch and the car sold in a matter of days. Same exact thing happened on a 12 (Westmont Lexus). They told me to scratch and the car sold the next day.
I've never paid sticker and thankfully I didn't pay sticker on my 08. But by me, people must be paying sticker or 500 under. Madness.

Man I would so love to find an IS-F without a sunroof.
That's like finding an MK4 Supra Turbo hardtop.
Not 100 percent sure but without a sunroof you might gain some headroom, maybe more helmet room if you decide to track it, slightly less weight and maybe even a little more rigidity in the chassis. I don't think I've ever opened my sunroof once since I bought my F.

there was a 2012 blue/black ISF sold with the moonroof delete sold in the classifieds a while back. Gorgeous combination. You will gain headroom space without a moonroof, about an inch or so.

Most ISF's this side of the pond are non-sunroof versions! It was more money for the sunroof, and let's face it, the UK weather sucks 99% of the time! Lol.

Check out the history of the car too, 6k miles makes me think it was used as a track car and returned. Check for local owner or history and service records. If it was a track car I would stay away, too many bozo's jumping behind the wheel and beating it to death could be bad news.
