Novel ECU tune

some exhaust systems have similar costs and same gains, but thats not an absurd price? Are response times for throttle and transmission tweaked on the Novel? If so, surely thats worth something. Blame Toyo/Lexus for locking the ECU

I understand the man hours to learn Toyota's unorthodox programming language and algorithms are what's at stake here in the price, and I'd expect to pay even more then the previously stated price for such. But for that price, I'd want full user access so that I could properly tune forced induction into the equation. Boy do I miss those days....

If it works well and makes 20 WHP for $2000, that's okay in my book.
I think the price is reasonable for the gains. The E9x V8 M3 owners pay about $800-1500 for a tune which gives them like 6-8 whp.

You guys do understand the difference between a tuning solution and a flash right? This is a flash, its not able to be modified and locked into its parameters.
A tuning solution (for those of you who mentioned other vehicles like M3's and other competitors) enables them to continuously modify their vehicle with respect to the engine mods they have. Their solution is also tangible, you can resell it. Our solution is locked to our vehicle unless we ship the ECU back to Novel to flash it back to stock.
Just to let you guys know, I've been through this with 8th generation Civics. Their ECU was difficult to break and even more difficult to develop a proper solution that unlocks all whole ECU (injector and FI support) as well as a proper platform to perform the task of tuning the vehicle. With that being said, it ended up being only $500 to buy the product with all the features to unlock the potential of the ECU AND at the end of it all, I can unlock the unit and sell it back to the market for almost the same price I got it for.
For those of you putting some sort of reasoning into this for $2000 just to then lose out after you decide to sell your car for something else.. its just not wise and as a business decision for Novel to price it that high in such a small market.. where the price turns off most buyers almost immediately once the buyer understands the amount of returns they could of had on virtually any other type of vehicle in the world.

just to clear up some assumptions and questions
1. this is a seperate ECU im running i still have my stock MY11 ECU which is included in the price (JDM ECU)
and yes the JDM does work in our AUDM cars which also runs a different security protocol
2. Yes this is a reflash and i think later on down the track it will be possible to delete things off the ecu once i find out more about this (im saying this as i have reflashed my brothers IS350 ecu to run manual transmission with no ecu faults)
3. I think the NOVEL ECU works on US cars as well last time i spoke to Taku from novel
So far the car has run in 100kms much better than yesterday
had a go with a 2014 911 carrera 4s and i left it for dead
