Anyone rub on the metal in the wheel well? (NOT the fender)
Lowered on coilovers and I'm not rubbing on the fenders. I did some slight modification to fix that. But I haven't seen where anyone is saying the tire/wheel is moving upwards into the metal of the wheel well. There is a lip that is rounded that the tire hits.
Anyone else have this issue? What did you do to fix this?
Lowered and tire is rubbing on this piece only on larger bumps.
The front is actually pretty high up on the BC Racing Coilovers. The fender is on the car. This is just a piece that's right behind/above the fender liner directly above the wheel.
I have an is350 but that happened to me. I trimmed that metal part using my dremel and doest rub anymore! But make sure to apply paint so it doesnt rust!
Lowered my front BC R coilover by 1/2 inch. Rubbing metal now.. Going to install bump stop spacer tonight (FIGS sell these).. Hopefully this will fix it.
I've worn through my fender liner in a couple of spots including the one in the picture. It's a trade off for me. I figured if I'm going to lower the car far beyond the factory specs then this kind of **** will happen.
These will allow early engagement of the factory bumpstop to eliminate hard bottoming or hitting the inner fender on extreme lowered cars with inadequate spring rates.
Super easy to install if you have long arms, just turn the wheel and install.
the bump stop spacers? it wont effect the ride other than bigger bumps. depending on suspension travel it could make it more prone to hitting the bump stops.
