Default discovered Lil leakage

So checked water pump and saw a little red crust around it but haven't been losing coolant. I did notice over a year ago level was low so topped off with red and it's been steady. I bet I put 15k on that since then and no loss.

How urgent is it to get the pump replaced?

i just turned 65k and noticed the pink slime. consumption was minimal but i replaced almost immediately. i would be curious also to know if failure is catastrophic

I guess it could over heat if you didn't stop if it completely failed or ran it dry etc.

danson this is the thread i referenced. 9aristo attached 2 pdf files on there that walk you through the major steps.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...p-leaking.html

also this thread for belt removal and routing:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-belt-diy.html

basically:

remove engine splash guard
drain coolant from petcock
remove intake elbow
remove coolant reservoir
remove accessory belt
remove water pump

then the reverse for install

one tip i would mention is that the is-f doesn't use a radiator cap on the radiator itself so the way to fill it is through the coolant reservoir

in all it took me about 2.5 hours to do. not too bad just take your time and make sure you follow the torque spec when installing the pump bolts back on.

i think at the dealer its about $600.
I ordered the part from lexus for $160 and 2 bottles of coolant. so in all it was just over $200
