Wasn't aware of any seat issues in the IS-F or any IS. This isn't a leather issue, but the molding used in the dash and door panels above the leather. The main problem is also for people that live in states with warmer humid climates. What part of CA are you in?

I noticed those with the problems on their side panels are from hot or humid climates. Maybe those conditions have something to do with it.

Anyone else in the southern states can chime in?

I'm in North Carolina. My problems are the side panels but not the dashboard. I'm considering tinting the front window since the side panels issue occurs when the direct sunlight shines on it though the front window. My sides and back windows are tinted.

We should all call corporate and file a claim. More powers in numbers! Door panels and leather seats! This way they might consider a campaign

I've called and email with pictures and was told to take the car to the dealership for evaluation. They will then decide if my issue need to be escalated. I'm sure they will do nothing unless all of us call corporate. The more calls the better.

I knoticed today that all 4 of my door panels are sticky. My passenger rear door is the worst with about 95% sticky. So I called corporate again. They again told me to take it to the dealer...
I'll have to get it done at my next service interval. So I'm going to jump through hoops again. I am going to PM the Lexus reps on here and point them to this thread. Maybe they can get something done.

Just wanted to update everyone with my experience.

After dealing with Lexus Corporate I had my entire dashboard and 4 door panels all replaced free of charge as a one time "goodwill" courtesy.

The process was a long and tedious one...

First went to service adviser and was put on some sort of waiting list for cars with defective dashes and door panels. Waiting 6 months with no updates when I followed up. Was told that he had still not heard anything from the recall and my IS-F was not covered. Pretty upset I wrote an email to corporate and attached pics of damaged parts on my car.

The process with Lexus Corporate was annoying but not bad. I had to take my IS-F back to dealer and they reexamined the car and took fresh pics. They were then sent to the specialist handling my case. I received weekly calls during this process. All my history was examined and with this being my 3rd Lexus they replaced it free of charge. Keep in mind this was not handled as a warranty fix, but more of a goodwill fix due to customer loyalty. Or so I was told.

Parts took less than 1 week to arrive at my dealer and all was replaced within 1 day. I am a happy customer and I happy it was taken care of. Just not happy with the process.

Im glad you were able to get it replaced, but thats horrible that it took going to corporate to get it done when everyone knows this is common amongst many ISF's.

Yup. I had my passenger door panel replaced on my own dime prior to the TSB coming out. I contacted corporate to see if I could get reimbursed, they denied my claim.

I went through the same process and the outcome is totally different. Based on the case manager's response, my car was not covered due to the service records (if the issue was raised still under warranty) and I was not the original owner. I was also told that if more of us raise the issue with corporate, it will still not make any difference. They are handling it based on the history of the vehicle which can have different outcome. This is BS. Other cars don't have this issue. Either I drive this car and always try to find a parking space in the shade or leave this car in the garage and drive it in the winter or cloudy days.

Got my ball rolling a little more now. Got my quote from the dealer for parts and labor at a little over $5500. Called corporate went through my entire concerns again...kinda like when you go to the doc and tell the nurse what's wrong with you and then the doc walks in and you gotta repeat yourself lol.

They are forwarding it up to the case manager and are supposed to call me back by Tuesday next week. Hopefully it goes the right way with making things right with an unhappy customer.

I went through the same process. Hopefully, your case will have a positive outcome. This is not right. They know about the defect and not denying that we have the issue.

Welp got my call be with an offer a few minutes ago. They said they would only cover 50% so that puts me with an out of pocket expense of over 2 grand. I let her know that I didn't agree with with given the rarity of these cars and i know that other owners have had theirs replaced at no cost. I don't know what I'm going to do. They said they would not cover any more than 50% since, like others have been told, I am not the original owner and that the F is not part of the warranty enhancement program. Anyone ever done a full upholstery on door panels and dash?

I got a crack in mine where my elbow sits. They told me, of course, my F wasn't part of the extended warranty deal. After a lot of "negotiating" they agreed to replace the panel for free.

I bought a used 08 ISF and the dealer replaced all 4 door panels and the dash for free last year. I originally just was inquiring about the air bag recall at the time but they actually pointed out other problems with that year and I never ever go to the Lexus dealer since I do almost all vehicle repairs myself. The previous owner had a small dog and there was claw marks on every door panel but that did not matter. I even had a nice new F sport loaner for 2 days too
