New to ISF Fam!
What is happening everyone?? Just picked up my 1st ever Lexus, let alone ISF - after having dabbled with 2 different 5 series Beemers, and a Prius (our secret), I went ahead and picked me up an ISF. Pics will be posted soon -
For now, have a question for all the experts. I have done days upon days of reading on here and general research and at this time, there are only 1 thing left unresolved, and that is the question of a warranty.
I was told by a sales manager at Lexus who is my downstairs neighbor that all I should be considering is the Power Train warranty if anything - was quoted at $2100 for a Fidelity with $100 deductible. What does everyone think? I know so many folk are against after market warranties, I am too, although they def paid out hefty for my last BMW (including a new transmission). But this is Lexus right? I mean this is why I did not go for an M3 or M5 or as my brother begged me to go with an E63.
The car itself has ONLY been services at Lexus and all of the known issues of the vehicle such as leaking water pump, navi touch screen, etc were all already taken care of. Sales manager and I went through the history records and the car has had not ONE mechanical issue (67k miles now). Do
help a brotha out in some of your opinions.
Looking forward to joining up with the fellow fam and glad to have stepped into this car - cannot say there is much else out there to match how much fun it is to drive!!

$2100 is a lot to fork out for something that may not happen. I do understand that the car is a expensive machine. To me its just a little ridiculous. I thoughts about it as well but I have till 30k on my 2011 and only have 15k miles. There are a lot of DIY forums were you can fix most things if your car savy. Just a lot in my opinion. Thats a decent exhaust.
Welcome to the club my friend.

welcome and congrats on the F! the reliability is one of the main reasons I purchased this car. I'm out of warranty and haven't had any major issues what so ever and I DD mine and DD it hard. I did and would again forgo any aftermarket warranty.

First of all, Congrats on your F,
I have purchased my F few month ago and was on the same boat whether to buy warranty or not.
End up not purchasing warranty and biggest reason why I bought F were reliability/performance.
No issue so far and enjoy everyday as daily car.

I also came from a couple BMWs, you shouldn't own a BMW off warranty but the Lexus seems solid. I guess in the end you might sleep better at night with warranty but power trains in modern cars are typically the last thing to fail usually it's electronic related issues.
