Default Thinking about ported manifold

And throttle body to go along with the PPE headers. I want to get as close to 400 RWHP without an aftermarket exhaust, keep the car "quiet".

Anyone running this combo?

I saw one in the sales section a while back: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/2ge...-manifold.html.

Don't know if you can squeeze any more power. Subscribed.

Not to get off topic but I'm curious which parts from the RCF 2URGSE will be interchangeable with our motor. I'm assuming it'll be a couple years before someone can get a hold of a motor and dissect it mostly because they cost so much. I wonder how much an intake manifold from one would cost and how much if any HP/TQ it would add.

^^^^^^^

Wondered that myself, since they did do significant work to the manifold with the RCF. Possible it could yield some gains but still feel like we are limited without a tune.

Any idea who would buy my manifold if I use yours?

I really doubt there is much there to be gained. If you want effective porting, it all happens in the last 1/2 inch of the port above the valve. Anything else is pretty much tiny gains. Besides, the exhaust is well known to be the major limiter on power for the engine in the IS F.

Wasn't the ported intake dynoed and was shown to add 13 RWHP? I am sure I've seen that somewhere.

I'm opening up things with PPE headers.

I'll take it for the right price. I found one for sale for 500. I need it for a direct port nitrous setup.

The only value I can see in porting one of these things is if the factory left casting flash in it, and port matching to the head. Much easier said than done, and still just small gains, nothing like getting the turn in the port right and cutting a 5 or 7 angle valve seat with reducing the valve contact face to 150% of the seat contact width. Last but not least is getting the port throat to a specific percentage of the valve diameter. Those are usually closely guarded secrets in the porting world. I have my own numbers, and I know they work.

Looking to get my unit ported, so I won't be selling it but stay tuned, we shall see what happens.
