Agree with the above. I'm a much better person for working my *** off in the summer to buy my own first car. A high mileage Acura Integra, but was mine and I earned it. Felt good.
Same here, bought my Integra cash in college while the majority of my friends had cars handed to them. Before that I shared my dad's 92 civic hatch (100hp) and did some stupid stuff in it, imagine if it was 4 times the hp. Buying my own car made me realize I am liable for anything that happens to the car or myself.

I don't remember saying he was going to get it as an irresponsible 18 year old so he can die.
a parents job is to make sure their kids succeed in life. How cool to inherit an F at an age where he won't plow into a telephone pole drunk doing 150.

Hope your son knows what he's doing behind the wheel of a modded IS-F, not a car for beginners if that's where's at.

If it was me, I would send him to some high performance driving school, and talk to him about not making every street light a drag race. (only speaking from experience, since I did it and looking back at it, it was stupid, although my WRX STi used to destroy almost anything off the line)

I never went up against an M5 (at least the V10 one), I had one launch against me, but I didn't feel like opening up the car inside town (back in CA) so I let him gun his engine.

Easy there, not all of us who grew up in Cali had a brand new car handed to us, some kids did (and I've seen that happened).

I used to have these kids fly by me in their 5.0's, Trans Ams, Z28's and what's not. I was driving my dad's 93 Corolla with a 3 speed automatic, AC, Power steering and a radio without a CD player.

Honestly, I much prefer to buy my own stuff, nobody can tell me what to do or give me any $h1T.

Headers/ exhaust/ intake/ throttle control total with install was about 6,000- it's been a few years so my recall may be off a bit, but worth every penny
