Finally broke into 12s after driving for 3 hours to get to Orlando it was over 80degrees with 65%humidity there, i tried to run first without launching the car , ran 13.3 and then after couple hour delay due to accident on the track with cooled down car , launching at about 1800rpms with a little chirp i ran 12.7 , the car hooked up great over all and i shifted on the limiter at every gear , i then also ran a 12.93 , with a little worst hook up at the start and gearing little too early from 3rd , but still was happy i finnaly got 12s on the stock car except the secondary cats , that were removed .... Met up with one of the members, really cool guy he ran his 2012 ISF he just got and his dad running Mach 1 mustang... Ended up being a good night except the wait to get a run in , but with breaking into 12s for the first time the trip was well worth it 😊
Thanks buddy, it was fun ! Yeah the car is all stock , stock air filter , except i have no secondary cats ...... Ive been running the car on the track quite a bit lately , and im getting down the shifts, launch and from reading all the hints and stuff trying to put together a ritual of things ,that will keep me under 13s , to me the every little thing like shifting too early, or bouncing the limiter too much are factors and its hard to do it same way every time, but im glad i got to see what the car can do ..... Now of to modding 😀😀😀
To the tire question, the track was decent, i keep running 2.0xxx consistently with these tires, but ive never got this fast to 1/8 and to 1/4 even tho i ran 13.123 with 109.5mph ... I ran michelin sport cups, but the rear was gone after 5000miles so while i ordered new tires i got an offer on slightly used tires from GS350 fsport 265/35/19 dunlop ... They are harder than michelins and they dont hook up as good on the street and in the rain, but they kill on the track, they have over 40 runs on them i run them at 36-38 psi, whatever i run on the highway , i keep in there, i just make sure i have the same pressure at both tires and they still have plenty of thread, i have brand new michelins in the garage, but im not putting them on until i kill these dunlops and then i might look into new set of dunlop instead of the michelin cups .....
Have you tried running in auto with sport mode turned on? Wondering how that would compare.
In auto the car shifts too soon. It won't let you bounce off the rev limiter. In manual mode you can bounce off the rev limiter to get the most out of each gear.
VtotheJ answerd the question, i tried everything, leaving the car in auto, shifting after beep, shifting 1st to 2nd at the beep .... I think its tricky and hard to hit it the same time every run, but with cooled down car and Decent launch i was suprised what the stock car can do in Florida weather being still over 80 degrees at 10pm and really humid .... I did over 60 runs in last two months to get the shifting and launching pathern down ... Its still something to work on, but went from 13.47 at 106mph witch was my First run in the car to my goal and that was get into 12s with stock car in Florida weather, the heat kills ... :/
Good job, been at dragstrip yesterday and couldn't do better than 13.13, I was launching at 1300rpm and no wheel spin at all, heard it pulls harder if mashed at idle, tried it this morning and it really does, but man 1800rpm brake launch! Im surprised the car didn't move, gotta try this, can't wait to go back
