Yellowtop (Battery Information)

You are correct Lou! I liked the option of not having to mount it backwards. And yes, the cables reach with no issues.
From the pict you have a Group 24F battery, not a Group 24. a Group 24 and a Group 24F are exactly the same, but with reversed polarities. The stock Lexus IS battery has the battery mounted with the back facing toward the front of the car and the poles nearest the firewall. Your is installed the other way around. My wife used to have an ES350, and that used a 24F battery. And from past experiences I know the difference. If the cables stretch far enough and it works, then I guess it's OK.

Bought Bosch battery size 24 and the metal clasp that goes on top of the battery doesnt fit...
Edit: found out why. I bought the Performance one not the AGM one. Pep Boys does say both fit in the ISF. Will have to return it tomorrow and get the AGM one!

I should clarify. Performance Bosch battery (size 24) does fit inside the battery compartment. The problem is that the metal clasp/fastener that goes on top of the battery doesn't fit. The perimeter around the top of the battery is chunkier than that of the OEM battery (thin and flat around perimeter).
If you say both fit fine, I must be doing something wrong then? I even removed the OEM plastic battery cover but the metal clasp still didn't fit...

I ordered the Bosch AGM group 24 on the Pepboys website last night because my battery can't handle the cold weather anymore. I sent someone to pick it up for me today and they gave him the group 24F despite having my order slip.
I'm using my car this weekend so I put it in but next week I'm going to get the correct one. I want the B+ wires in there clips on the side of the battery box and I don't like how close the negative terminal cover comes to the hood strut.
On a positive note they had a 20% off coupon so it cost me $151 and the blue is a pretty sweet bonus.
