Before I go and measure myself, does anyone know the closest size yellowtop to replace the oem f battery (I know there is not a direct replacement)? This is what the website says (no yellowtop)...
The oem size is a 24. I'm not sure the pros or cons of going with a 25. I recently purchased the Bosch 24agm battery and it's perfect. It doesn't have to be installed backwards to fit like the optima Added bonus - it's F blue!

AGM/Optima (Absorbent Glass Mat)...........Is this better than your standard battery like a Interstate MTP? Or does Lexus recommend one vs another?

The benefits of an AGM battery, among other things, is that it can be mounted in any way(upside down, sideways etc.) I can't imagine Lexus recommends an AGM over a standard battery. The standard OEM size is a 24 though.
I know it's not a huge deal but I have had an Optima (red top) battery in the past and the posts are so that you must install it backwards. A deatil that I wasn't able to get over. However, with the Bosch 24AGM there are two post position options. And as stated before it's F blue! I can't speak about the other batteries listed above but I'm happy with the Bosch24AGM.
I could've save me $40 when ordering online and probably get it by this week....but NOOOO, now $205 for optima red top at pep boys and picking it up tom...amazon is $160 plus free shipping....

I've search this battery and its cheaper than red top and they have $15 off promotion + 4 years warranty...I might have to get this one...thanx for posting...
Dealer did a battery performance test and it's time to get a new one. Which brands do you recommend? I've heard Duralast Gold is good here and there but I want to expand my options. Also, what size category is the OEM Panasonic battery? I want to avoid any fitment issues in the future.
so I purchase the bosch with $15 coupon and 4 years warranty and it fits perfect!!! but you might want to call the nearest pepboys, because they run out of stock in 3 different store when I call..
The referenced thread may be of some help to you. I currently have a three old Bosch Group 24 battery which has given me GREAT service, when I replace it will be with the new Bosch Group 24 AGM battery described in Post #6 in the thread below:

From the pict you have a Group 24F battery, not a Group 24. a Group 24 and a Group 24F are exactly the same, but with reversed polarities. The stock Lexus IS battery has the battery mounted with the back facing toward the front of the car and the poles nearest the firewall. Your is installed the other way around. My wife used to have an ES350, and that used a 24F battery. And from past experiences I know the difference. If the cables stretch far enough and it works, then I guess it's OK.
