My new street/track wheel and tire set up
Hey guys . As some of you know I have been looking for wheels for a while now . I have been looking for a great road and track set up since I do regular track days and wasn't keen on running two sets of wheels and tires . I wanted something that ran the correct oem diameter and was as wide as was reasonably possible . After weeks of research , dozens of emails and PMs, and a little anxiety I went with the HRE FF15 wheels . They are brand new for 2015 and are their flow formed wheels . I went with HRE mainly for quality but also because they made the rear wheels in the offset needed to clear such a wide wheel without ordering a custom wheel with a custom offset . Apparently the rears are made for the RCF ! HRE actually recommended the 19x10 for the rear of the ISF but actually had a car there to test fit the 19x11 for the rear and they said it cleared !!
Current set up :
HRE FF15 with a custom Anthracite finish ( FF 15 is only available in black or hypersilver . All refinishing was done in house at HRE in San Diego)
19x9 +40 255/35/19 Yokohama Advan AD08R
19x11 +55 295/30/19 Yokohama Advan AD08R
fronts weighed 19.9 lbs and the rears were 22.7 !! The factory wheels look great and they are light but they are not as light as some may think relative to many out there today.
There is mild rubbing in the rear that is mild and there is contact with the front tire and the fender liner at full lock. In the case of the front I dont even hear it I just noticed a small dark spot on the liner indicating contact . Fenders will be rolled tomorrow morning and I bought a heat gun to massage that little protruding bump in the front fender liner . I used the Project Kics R26 lugs and the HRE hub rings in the rear but had to use discount tire hub rings for the front because HRE sent me the wrong front rings .
The car rides very well but I can tell these tires have a much stiffer sidewall relative to the last 2 sets of Michelin PSS ( and I love it ). The car also feels like it rolls less . I'm not sure if that's from the stiffer sidewall or the wider foot print , or both. I have a set of custom metal hub rings on order and am looking forward to the next track day. Main objective was to fill in the fenders, add much needed grip on the track, while frankly, making the car look like she goes . I followed my wife while she was driving my car with the stocks and I hated the way the wheels look so sunken in.

That's a sweet looking setup! 👍 Please let us know of the results during your next track day. The new wheels look awesome, I thought you were gonna go with the black finish but the current one's look amazing! 295 in the rear must look so aggressive in person!

That's a very nice setup and big footprint of rubber
I was too contemplating running the ad08r as I read they have a stiffer side wall compared to others.
Let us know your experience with these tires compared to the Pss's. Looks like Penskes are your next major purchase

Love it!
I also love what you've done with the garage! Lol.
Spent twice as long looking at the photos so I could see how you've set things up in there!
Very nice indeed chap.
Look forward to your review after they've been tested on track.

Thanks guys . I drove the car about 50 miles this morning and WOW.
They ride great and SUPER stiff. These AD08Rs are in another universe in terms of sidewall stiffness.
I am having the fenders rolled right now . Will need to work on the front fenders this afternoon.

Thanks buddy. They are a bit less complex than the oem but I have always been into wheels with more detail ( spokes)
Thanks guys. I getting used to the new look and loving it. I was surprised at the reaction I got at Wheel specialists. The techs there work on crazy high end cars all day and they were all so curious about the car and taking pics. lol They were busting out iphones and ipads and even 2 people in the waiting room got all excited when they noticed the car in the bay. I was flattered.

For those of you who are looking to buy new wheels , I dont think you could find a better or more professional person to work with than Jason at Get your wheels.com. Their pricing, free shipping , service, and immediate response was amazing.
Several members here guided me to them and for good reason
