Default Buying a 2009 ISF

Hi Everyone,

New to the forum and not to sure how to navigate everything just yet.

I am looking to purchase a 2009 ISF Series 2 with 85 000km, $34 000 CDN.
Everything looks to be in good order, the car drove great.

Any recalls or maintenance that should have been completed till now?

What maintenance will i need to complete within the near future?

What do you love most about your ISF?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Alex

I guess I'll be the first to respond.. Welcome to the forum. I have been a member a little over 2 months and an owner for about a month now. It took me 3 months to find the right ISF.

I am new to the ISF car so I may miss some things but I"m sure others will chime in and speak on things i missed .. So as for recalls, before I purchased my Lexus ( and i would highly recommend this) I took it to the Lexus dealer and had a Pre Purchase Inspection ( PPI) performed it cost me 100 bucks. When the dealer ran the Vin they realized that the car had not had the cooling fan recall done. So they performed it . As a result of the cooling fan issue they also discovered the radiator was bad and replaced that as a good faith service. That was a 1200.00 job that i would had have topay for if they didnt cover it.

Taking it to have an inspection will yield any issues that could be an issue and give you a snapshot of the cars health and then become a negotiation point for the purchase. Another great service is Lexus Drives website.

https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lex...-lexus/home.do

here you can make an account take the vin of the car you are about to buy plug it into the data base and it will spit out a report of the cars full service history ( if it was serviced at any Lexus dealer). its free and it works and it will also tell you if any recalls have been performed , oil changes, service, etc.. It also give you the Maint schedule for your car so you know at what interval certian things need to be performed. I have the 60K service due and a majority of those items i can do myself but I may have some of it done at the dealer.

Do i love my ISF........ fack Yeah!!!!! Let put it to you this way. Its not my DD and when i get home from work or a few days on the road for work. I pull that bay boy out nd drive it around the city or take up to the twistiest in northern Cali.. I love this car. I came from a long line of cars and I sold my stage 2 Tuned 350HP Volvo S60R AWD for this car and im glad i did. Loved my R but i wanted something else. Its sucj a bad *** car in all regards and I feel its a perfect balanced car and not to crazy. I have only owned it for 3 weeks but i drove 2300 miles from Houston Texas to Cali to get it and those 2300 miles were insane lol. Especially learning how to Lunch it on the baron service roads in Arizona lol

The only thing I can say i noticed that has gotten a little annoying is the ride is a little harsh over crappy roads. It feels a lot like the Advance Mode ( Track) suspension on my volvo R. Supposedly pre 2010 models were really harsh on the ride but some on here says it not that bad. On smooth roads its very solid and comfortable but i have noticed especially on crappy roads, there is a lot of harsh and bouncing .. My wife who is 8 month Preggo even noticed it but riding in anything outside of the Volvo's 4C active chassis you can feel riding over a pin needle it was that good..

Aside from that the acceleration and handling when i want to get crazy is what has me smiling from ear to ear over this car...

Good luck and let us know how everything turns out.. This forum is great!! and with any forum.. " The Search Button is your friend"" :P

I'd say take it in to the dealer for first oil change and see if there is any record and recalls, at 100k km you change all fluids, plugs and belt and drive another 100k km. Toyota world is that easy 👍

thats going to be a fun upgrade. The power and handling of this car are amazing and its a great reliable car (being a Toyota).

Reliability is the key reason I bought mine over getting M3 or CTS-V.

Thanks guys been loving every moment! Quick question, does traction control come off completely? Every time i turn it off and try to accelerate it comes back on.

Congrats Alex your ISF looks clean. You are in Canada right? Those angles were a Canada only option?

If you are talking about the wheels, they are the same as the Nieman Marcus version in the US, and were available in Canada and overseas, but they were not available in the US except on the Nieman Marcus edition.
