Sold My D3 Audi S8 To Purchase Lexus IS-F
Hi everyone,
Last week, I picked up a 2012 IS-F with ~30k miles.
The car puts a smile on my face each time I hop in the driver seat. (I have owned a 2000 NSX, a 2007 S8, a STS, a Prius, a 350z, and Integra....the IS-F is an amazing car and is definitely up there with the best in-class super sedans!).
In all honesty i knew nothing about the IS-F until a few weeks go, (when i was mulling divesture of the S8). In my opinion, the IS-F is the best kept secret in super sedans, and amazingly rare. (I don't recall ever seeing one in person until the day i bought one.... had to drive 2 hours from the SF Bay to test drive/purchase one)
I'm impressed with the fit and finish and it feels awesome knowing that Toyota reliability underlies this beast. If she holds up like the LS460 my dad owns, I will be very happy!
Look forward to learning from each of you on the forum.
Regards,
Monaco

Welcome to the crew ! I owned an 07l LS460 and it was a great car but the F is even more reliable . Especially if you have a 2012 . Its rock solid . You can beat the snot and crap out of these cars and they just look at you and smile . 11 track days in 19 months and all I have had was a seat squeak that needed simple bolt tightening . Robust is an under statement

Congrats on the pickup! 2012 does have the majority of revisions the IS F had over its model years. Things such as suspension tweaks, LSD (since 2010), newer LED headlights (since (2011), and the wider wheels, albeit only 1/2 in, are some of the main things that this particular year had. Mainly the years the followed were just cosmetic. Enjoy it to the fullest!

Bnizzle basically nailed all the changes. The 2011+ F's tracked almost 7 seconds faster (if I recall) on VIR than the older models when Car and Driver tested.
