Default 09 ISF Headlight Condensation

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased my ISF from a Lexus dealer in my area.

After the first rainfall i noticed there was water starting to build up in my passenger headlight.

I called lexus to have the part changed under warranty as its only been 15 days i have the car and they won't cover the repairs...

My question is, should i be pushing them to fix and replace the housing or am i better off doing it myself?

has anyone had this issue?

I noticed this on my 2010 . Thankfully it doesn't rain in AZ ...... Ever lol. It's annoying because I know they will tell me its not covered . Honestly the extended warranty on this car and my ls460 have paid for JACK SQUAT !! We just buy them for reassurance but it's very rare for them to cover jack since the cars are so reliable . Then with stuff like this they leave us hanging

I have had pretty much every single warranty issue denied at the dealership.. I smiled everything, picked up my phone, called Lexus, was polite but stern, and every single one of my warranty items were covered.

This is exactly what I've done since my is250. After a stern but polite conversation with corporate I always get what I want. Headlights, dashboard, brake pads, rotors, badges, paint touch ups...lol.

I had the same problem. No warranty on my 08 that would cover the headlights. Fortunately I found a great deal on the 2012 headlights and swapped them over. Even wrote up a DIY on it. Good luck getting it fixed. My problem was the headlight body had a small crack in it.

Is the headlight the same as the IS250-Is350?

Before you spend a penny. Call lexus.. I'm telling you... Dealerships have items they always replace, sometimes replace, never replace... Almost like a pre set list.. They say they call, and they may.. But it's not conducive to them to fight for you (unless they really like you or you've spent a ton of money)

On the other hand calling lexus and telling them hi.. I'm Alex, not a service rep.. I bought a 35k car with a warranty and I feel as if I'm getting looked over.. Help me not lose faith in the brand..... They have the ability to and almost always do fight for the consumer.. Just try it.

Mine did it yesterday for the first time, I popped off the low beam access cap and drove for less than 10 minutes with the headlights on (HIDs = lots of heat) and the water was all gone.

My next step is ordering these (3M Gortex Patches), drilling a hole on the access cap and placing it over the hole. Should let the water out and not in.

The step after that is 2012 headlights lol

Man Im going to try that. See if they will do anything for the headlights. What I really want fixed is that damn belt slip noise at red line when I shift in sport.

Pretend it's a blow off valve

Haha, I tell people it's my tires breaking lose and I wiggle the steering wheel to act like I'm correcting my rear end swinging out lol... Then I say "Ha, did you feel. Me lose traction" so far No one has picked up its a belt.

I'm bummed. I actually thought the squeal at redline was the tires.
No headlight condensation, though.
