Default Possible bad wheel bearing?

Hey CL, was just driving home and noticed and sort of slapping sound from my rear left tire - I pulled over at a gas station to take a look at it and found no issues with the tire itself (bubbles/flat spots) or any irregular wear, my next best guess is that the wheel bearing has gone bad, is there a way i can test this for the rear wheels without putting it on a lift? If anyone has alternative ideas or experience with this some help would be greatly appreciated.

I had bad wheel bearings but it was the fronts. Lexus does not sell the bearing so i had to replace both wheel hubs and they were not cheap. That slapping noise could easily be a bag or some sort of debris that got stuck on your wheel making that noise you are describing. I had that issue too when I had my is350 and it turned out to be a plastic bag caught underneath the passenger rear lower control arm.

Yeah I've been seeing others having front bearing issues, fortunately if it does turn out to be the bearings the rears are much cheaper - i doubt its a bag as i don't get the noise at all speeds, its there 80-90% of the time but not always like i assume trash caught up in it would be.

just jack up the rear until its off the ground and check for play. no need to take the wheel off.

ive replaced the front bearings on my F. it was super easy. the rear, although cheaper, will be a lot more work.

You're not doing maintenance work...a cat got stuck in the wheel well of the car and you had to jack it up

Haha trust me I've tried to pull stuff like this before and they've told me not to do three times now, can't wait to move out of here. Will just wait for appointment with lexus on tuesday and avoid unnecessary driving until then.

Nope, you need special approval from our "parking officer" which I'm not sure if he's an actual officer or a rent-a-cop yet so i figure best not to **** him off while i already have two warnings.... absolutely ridiculous and a huge reason i can't wait to get out of here.

Last question on this, is this ok to drive on for 3-4 days till i can get it in? I'm guessing it is briefly from what I've read of wheel bearings but should i be avoiding any hard accelerating with it?

Avoid hard cornering and hard braking as well. Drive very gentle.
