Saw a GSF at the dealer

I think I read that the GSF is still more expensive than the 640 HP CTSV. Not good. I think with the reputation for tunability and reliability of the last gen CTSV many enthusiast will still lean toward a caddy with 180 extra ponies AND forced induction which means you could just breathe on the motor with a tune and a smaller SC pulley and BOOM !!!700 HP is right there. At least the ISF had more power and toque than an M3. The GSF really competes with the CTS Vsport.

okay ill add my $0.02 on the GS-F. I work at a dealership as a technology specialist, I used to be a salesman and I actually know the cars.
the IS-F was an M3 fighter in its day. it was an unbelievable car that they never should have killed off. they are a blast to drive and I don't think the RC-F even comes close to the feel of the IS-F. don't get me wrong, I like the RC-F, but its not as harsh and nasty riding as the IS-F, which is something I love. now the GS-F on the other hand, I can sum up pretty quickly. being where I work I watched the first GS-F show up on the truck, and watched it through the whole PDI prep, all the way to the lot. I was the first one that grabbed the key fob cause I had been waiting to drive one for so long. the GS in general is already fun to drive, call me crazy but I think the current GS Fsport is the most fun to drive car in the regular car line up, even over the RC350. the GS-F had me grinning from ear to ear. it reminds me of a more grown up, mature IS-F. its larger, more sophisticated, but still has that awesome handling and ride, as well as that snarl. I hope I can get one someday, but due to limited production I fear that it will hold its value for a very long time, and being its the kind of car people get to drive hard, I have a feeling most examples ten years from now will be almost clapped out. hopefully not. so anyway, that's my take on the GS-F from the inside.
while im on the subject, the IS-F has always been one of my favorites. interesting fun fact, my dealership sold the very last brand new IS-F. I remember looking at that car, sitting in that car and driving it, thinking that was going to be the very last one someone could buy new off the showroom floor, and there would never be another one again. kind of a sad feeling. I wish I could have sold it and delivered it cause that would have been a once in a lifetime experience, however I did do something cool in sales. I sold the very first RC350 F-sport on the east coast, so that's my claim to fame. ill never forget it either. black with the red interior. really sick car.

I hate that Lexus got stupid with the Price Point of their new F lineup. Needless to say the wife REALLY REALLY wants a GSF.
But again like stated there are much more of a car out there for the same or just a little more $.
Maybe it's the 1st year pricing. They usually price high the 1st year release of a model.

The current engine is a proven motor by now, so they stuck with it. Compression bumping and all that, all known tricks in the book.
Boosting this motor or another motor, the R&D will drive up the costs. It will also drive the costs of the car.

Thanks for your feedback brother.. I feel the same sentiment on the ISF as you do. I think they are well balance just a great "drivers" car. BTW what is a "Technology Specialists"?
I'm actually one of a few that are excited about the GSF. I as well think it is deeply overpriced but i think you also get what you pay for and Lexus is just one of those brands that can actually get away with asking for outrageous amounts of cash for a car and people will shell out for it. I think also with the state the economy is in its kind of asinine for companies to still produce 100K mid-level sedans and still keep a straight face.. I'm still trying to understand who the target market is for the GSF?
I'll get one eventually... I don't really need 650HP CTS-V..( im still debating on its looks) I already have that in my Supra!
