Man I wish.

Talked to Rafi from RR he knows his stuff and I think its a matter of when and not if.

He stressed to me many times he wants it perfect with no issues. We couldn't ask for a better shop to be doing this.

Thank you Nick... the bottom line is we are trying to make sure we make consistent smooth power gains throughout the RPM range. We will post a new thread very soon, as we finalize pricing and results.

I want to thank everyone who has provided us with baseline datalogs. One thing I learned is that datalogging Techstream with the cheap ebay/amazon $25 cable is not good. For laptop logging you really need the Mongoose cable.

That said, iphone apps and OBD bluetooth devices work really well for datalogging. I have used Dashcommand with the PLX wifi device and it logs really well (but not all the Toyota specific parameters that you get with Techstream).

Those of us with the xHorse cable know this. It's not even in the ballpark of the Mongoose cable for response, and it frequently loses connectivity for no apparent reason. I have thought about buying a Mongoose cable, but there is another cost associated with it and I'm not so sure I want to drop that much on an annual basis for just my three cars.

Looked up the Mongoose cable. Holy crap. I'll stick with my eBay cable.

I'm not saying it won't work, but it's a knock off.

PS, Be careful about posting links to counterfeit goods.

It's not counterfeit per se. The industry isn't very precise about nomenclature, so calling it a Mongoose cable isn't totally wrong, but it definitely is not made by Drew Tech. That's an xHorse unit.

I am sure at some point I'll get a proper Mongoose cable. Probably the bluetooth enabled one so I can put my laptop anywhere and work on the car. Last time I did the transmission fluid level check I had a power cord running through the driver's window over a towel because I don't trust my laptop's battery anymore.

Thanks for the heads up.

I've removed the link from my original post.

By no means would I promote anything that wasn't 100% above board.
