Default Clear Bra Opinions Please

Hello all,

I've got an appointment next week to replace the clear bra on the front-end of the 2011 ISF I just bought. It is black and the paint isn't perfect of course. The clear bra was on the hood, fenders and mirrors. Nothing was on the bumper. Anyway, due to this fact, the bumper isn't perfect. Part of me thinks I should get the clear bra again on the hood, fenders, mirrors and bumper. Another part of me thinks the paint isn't perfect so who cares and let it rip and put nothing back on. I'm seeking your collective wisdom. I guess if I do it, those areas can't get worse than they are I suppose. Why am I replacing the bra? It wasn't the best application and appears to be coloring.

Thanks!
Brad

If the paint is perfect under covered areas get it redone. If it's not, then hold off until you can get all the areas resprayed. Finally, you can choose protect it.

Do you do a lot of highway driving? If so, then i would say go for it for sure, more protections from flying rocks and other debris.

When I bought my F she had significant chipping but I didnt want to drop the 2k to spray the front of the car. The dealership did some Dr colorchip work before I bought the car and I just put the clear bra over the chips .

It is what it is.

In the end she is a race car not a show car. Much easier to accept imperfections when you think like that.
I used the EXPEL ULTIMATE. Its a self healing clear bra. Super hero skin on my hood and bumper

The clear bra is a must on any car I own after how well it's worked on my F. I'd respray the front bumper and get the bra. If you can't and it's not perfect I hues it depends on if you want to let it get worse before respray.

Clear bra is a must... I did not purchase one for the front bumper and man i regret it. I will fix that soon once it is resprayed.

I plan to do this as well. I currently have one but at some angles you can really see it on the SFP. Its a yellowish tint.

I was told to becareful putting a clear bra on a car with chips in the paint. It will make chips stand out even more.

I learned my lesson on my IS300 how soft Lexus paint is on the front end.

Full clear bra on the ISF.

I put on Avery nanoshield on my isf four years ago and it's held up great. No yellowing, no peeling. I also got the full hood coverage, front bumper, headlights front fender and top of the rear bumper. Based on my experience, I would recommend it if you want to protect your paint.

I have 3M on the entire hood (not just halfway up) front bumper, mirrors, fender flares, and rear bumper. Not a single rock chip. The only gripe I have is when I detail the car I don't get as sharp a finish on the hood. Visually its just not as clear as the rest of the car. But, I'll take it over rock chips every time. I don't even bother taping anything up for track days, the clear bra saves the day time and time again.

I love this . If I were to ever redo mine I will do the entire hood. Especially for track days

Look into the suntek clear bra film.... Thicker and a more glossier finish
