How much too long are they? Talking a couple of inches and they could be cut down (or use a more compact set of tips) or "no chance in hell"?

I have a custom exhaust and just bought 2 Varex to fit them on my system.
I have headers and love the brutal sound but didn't want to fight with the neighbours if I want to leave early morning or late at night.

I'll install them next week.
Where did you buy just the Varex mufflers?

I just got my XForce Varex system which I ordered from Summit Racing.
Will install after the New Year but just some initial impressions this is definitely a budget looking exhaust from the cuts and welds.
I dont mind as long as it gives me what I am looking for but just a heads up for those that love the BLING.

Also to answer the suspicions from a couple pages back yes the XForce is indeed a smaller diameter piping compare to the JoeZ it sorta copies.
I dont have a JoeZ but I would assume its a true 2.5" throughout but the XForce is 60mm(2.36") piping throughout including the varex mufflers.

It would have been great had it been 63mm but for $900 shipped I'll take the lost of 3mm and the ability to adjust the noise level on the fly.
Sound clips to come.

Interesting, someone prior had mentioned they thought the Varex system had smaller piping. Would be curious to know if the non Varex is truly 2.5". I placed an order with Meraki but then found out they are out of stock so am in limbo.

Also odd Xforce website claims both are 2.5"...

Does anyone with the varex mufflers have a video showing the difference between muffler open vs muffler closed while cruising at 1,500 - 2,300 rpm where the typical F drone range occurs? Full disclosure: I did not read all 24 pages of this thread, but searched the thread for "varex" - I found a couple videos showing differences in sound (varex open vs closed) under heavy acceleration (3,000 rpm+) and at idle, but nothing at 1,500 - 2,300 rpm cruising or under light load in that range. I currently have Magnaflow mufflers and am happy with the sound over 2,300 rpm, but I have a nasty drone from 1,500 - 2,300 rpm that I need to get rid of. I sometimes have to put clients in my F and need it to be QUIET in that rpm range (at least when they are in the car). I know some people are claiming no drone for the varex mufflers, but drone is very subjective in definition (drone vs regular volume) and where some hear it, others do not. I would love to see a video of an F cruising at ~2,000 rpm and switching the muffler open and then closed on the fly. And/or toggling the muffler then accelerating lightly from 1,500 to 2,300. I'm currently PPE headers and ISS DES exhaust, so would love to see this comparison an a headers + no-cats car. There are a number of F owners trying to kill this drone in other threads - seems like this muffler may be a solution? Vids please.

I think will be difficult to demonstrate the difference in a video.

With the flap closed it is as quiet as stock in that rpm range - it is very, very quiet.

Thanks Vervish - this exhaust is an intriguing option. It may be difficult to capture the difference at low rpm, but this is what I was envisioning: Drive at a constant 1,800 rpm with muffler open - start recording - lightly (over several seconds) accelerate to 2,200 rpm or so, then let off and decel to 1,800 again. Hit button to close muffler, then do the light accel to 2,200 again and then decel to 1,800 - stop recording.

Are you saying that the sound difference between open vs closed in that rpm range is so small that you don't think it would show up on video? Not trying to be a **** - just trying to understand. Thanks.

I may PM Meraki, but hopefully they see this thread. It would be nice if they could confirm with Xforce if it's truly 2.5" on the most latest release. I'm actually less interested at 2 3/8" if that's what it is.

If you plan to stay NA I would doubt that last 1/8" makes much of any difference in performance. Muffler design would have a greater impact.

Yeah. I suspect that that at that rpm, the very little drone that is there (while in the open position) will not be picked up on the cell phone vid. On vid, i think it will probably sound exactly the same whether open or closed.

i will I'll give it a shot next time I am out.

Although true, I wouldn't like that it's advertised as one thing and not it.
