And just so everyone realizes something... the older versions of the PPE headers are different then the new ones. All the headers now from PPE are Stainless Steel and can be treated with the ceramic coating.
The older headers which were ceramic coated were only mild steel. That is why the older headers were cheaper.

^^^^Just to clear things up a bit. There were three versions of the ISF header by PPE. The first version was mild steel and required relocation of the oil dipstick. They redesigned for the second version that did not require dipstick relocation.

The third version, as you say is constructed of 304 SS. This version is sold either with no coating or ceramic coated (polished or black). AND the mild steel version is still available, with only ceramic coating, as a lessor cost option.

As far as the mild steel version still being available, I am not sure of that as we don't offer this version unless its specifically requested by the customer. But you seem to know what your talking about as all your other information is correct so, I will agree with you :-)

This is my next purchase plus the tune. Can you keep me/us posted on your findings once installed.

Im really worried about smell and loudness as it is somewhat a luxury car and I want to somewhat keep it that way. In other words I pick up the ladies in this instead of my daily is300 and I don't want it to be annoying or smell funny.

You can always add high flow cats to your exhaust system to help tone down the sound and smell while only giving up around 5hp (give or take a few hp depending on your car & setup of course).

I think the sound is mean, I love it! To me it was the smell I couldnt get used to.

Anyone who bought the headers, the new PNP harness is a success. Super easy to install, and it's working great so far. I actually got the wrong harness, quickly snapped a photo to PPE and they o/n me a correct one. The correct plugs will snap onto the factory o2 sensor harness like stock, and you actually go from inside the car peeling down the carpet on driver/passenger side of the car literally unplug the stock and plug these into them.

iv already installed sikky o2 sim , i dnt know hows the game gonna work ,,whether its ok to install the ppe harness ...or its all the same ?>

If your o2 sims already working then I would leave it alone. When and if it does go bad you can plug in the PPE's pnp harness its literally takes few minutes to install...

Or you can just remove it and install the pnp ones. I was suprised how easy it was to install. Normally you access the o2 sensors from the bottom but on these cars are are accessible from the center console. I wouldnt run both though.

I noticed that RRracing was giving a discount if you buy headers and tune at same time. Looks like $200. Looks like the headers are mild steel and you have to move dipstick. I would rather just pay the extra monney to get SS and not have to move dipstick. Can anyone confirm this.
