Better be careful with it the first time though, when I turned the sport mode on in my car for the first time, I went sideways having too much fun because I didnt know that it turns off some of the traction control functions

In answer to your question on I/E, it varies to a degree from car to car. 5HP or so for the intake (better doing a performance drop in filter and intake pipe), and Joe Z exhaust depends on whether you are removing the secondary cats or not. Again, will be around 20-35HP as a ballpark.
If it was me, I'd do a better air filter, uprated intake pipe, and PPE headers.
You can then add the exhaust at a later date when funds allow.
Headers are a big job labour wise. Best getting that out the way early on. You also gain more HP, especially if you remove the primary cats.
Good luck, and congrats again.

Usually leave it in regular mode unless a worthy adversary shows up.

I drive in normal now. The first two months I had the car I couldn't figure out why you would drive in anything else but sports mode. You'll see, it's too jerky and it holds gears longer which is great for spirited driving but not so much for going to the store or when you're out on date-night.
