Premium Gas Prices.

Gas in my area is still around $2.85 for premium, outrageous! I heard that gas prices are expected to soar up 30 cents overnight today!

Was $1.41 for regular a few days ago, back up to $1.49 near my house for regular. Premium(which my SC requires) varies greatly in price. The Thortons(off brand gas) premium is usually $.40 cents more a gallon, so $1.79 to $2.00 a gallon.
The shell station right next door thinks their premium is made of gold pressed latnum. They are very price competitive with the thortons no name 87 octane across the street, but they think their premium 93 octane is worth $0.60 to $0.90 cents more a gallon. Which is really a shame, since Kroger gives me a discount on Shell gas, but even then it isn't nearly enough to make up for the "cheap" 93 octane at the thortons. Running a bottle of injector cleaner every oil change I guess will make up for the lack of cleansing agents in the cheap gas.

$1.30s to $1.40s regular, $1.70s and $1.80s premium.
Very common for stations to list something like $1.45 on their sign, and at the pump premium is $2.49, $2.89, etc. Have to be very aware, use gasbuddy app, etc. This is purely the effect of station's owner greed. They are hoping that the buyer won't notice, or that the buyer will simply pay for the convenience given that they're already at the pump. I drive away.
As the saying goes, prices drop like a feather, increase like a rocket. As oil was going down, gas prices took months to drop. Whenever it looks like oil prices recover slightly, stations quickly add 20-30 cents to their prices.

So at Costco, I could try to estimate pumping 1/3 87, and then 2/3 93, to arrive at a 91 mixture. But then again, it's probably not really worth the $1.35 savings to do this (assume 4.5 gallons 87, $0.30 difference), whilst saving the anguish for the person waiting in line thinking you were done, only to start pumping again.

You really don’t know your in the “good old days” until those days have ended.
