When I first bought the car, one of the first mods I did was to actually get a cover for the areas that would see the most usage, and seats were one of them. CA summers get really hot, and full leather certainly isn't something you want yourself or a hot date in a nice mini skirt to feel if the car has been baking out in the sun for some time. Not to mention, the IS F never received cooled front seats, so this definitely helps in that regard. Full authentic sheepskin was used to wrap around the seats and headrests, and there were a variety of colors to choose from, but charcoal kept it similar to the interior lining of the car. Along with this, I had my dashboard cover custom created, and sure enough the 2IS had an issue that recently came out with its melting dash. I'm not saying this will prevent it, but it can help prolong its uniform appearance (that and a nice tint on the windshield). And lastly, I added a leather cover to the steering wheel for no other reason than I wanted a thicker steering wheel, and this was before the time there are all these companies creating thicker wheels with better designs, which I am still thinking about myself.
Don't mind the kids. I love them to death, but they're exactly the reason why I wanted to protect my leather this way. Candy, spilled milk, the occasional vomit to and from Toys R Us....it has protected everything, and I make sure by checking underneath the covers to make sure nothing has seeped through.
