Default Looking for pricing advice - Found 08, 105K, $20K - Good deal?

Hello everyone, I've been a longtime lurker on Club Lexus and have been waiting out the depreciation curve for the 08 ISFs to get closer down to the $20K mark.

I've been given the option to acquire a 2008 ISF with 105K for $20K from an independent dealer. Car appears to be in fair to good condition, but does not have service records (was a trade in). I'd prefer to see service records and the dealer said he could put me in contact with previous owner, so they may still exist. Car has Eibach lowering springs, Borla Stainless exhaust, carbon steering wheel as upgrades but some road wear and some particularly nasty curb rash on some of the wheels.

I've run through the for sale forum and I thought the price was from fair to good deal, but a lot of the vehicles on the for sale forum also have a ton of mods which distort the price.

Any thoughts? Otherwise the waiting game continues....

Go to mylexus.com and register get an account then you can type in the Vin number for the ISF you want or looking at and it will show you service history for the car if it was serviced at dealership.

Thanks for the tip on this one, using the VIN pulled up the service records which look fairly complete from 0-40K (expected) with an ownership gap record between 40K and 80K, when the servicing continued at Lexus. Per the autocheck, I would be the fifth owner so looks like owners 2 and 3 were between 40K and 80K.

I recently bought a 08 with 72k for $24k, new brakes, and tires. But it had 4 previous owners. Hope this helps with giving you an idea.

I think it's a good deal. I just bought mine in Cali 1 owner 66k for 26,000 but needed new tires.

I would also consider this a good deal. See if there are any items that need replacing rather soon. Getting in touch with the previous owners might help, at least just to get a sense of maintenance and maybe how the car was handled.

But at that price, it's a really good deal. Best of luck!

91k, I'm 5th owner, $25k, new tires/brakes and was well maintained by the dealership. I don't care that I'm 5th owner because I drive all my cars.

I paid $20,000 for a 2008 with 130,000 on it from the original owner. I would buy yours before I would have bought mine if I had the option.

I don't really mind 4-5 owners. I have had my car for almost a year now and am planning on selling it soon. Not everyone keeps their cars for years. Mine had 56K on it and IIRC I am the 3rd or the 4th owner.

These things are tanks. And there's no "boost" which could've been turned up.

Oh & btw, welcome to the board.

Before I picked up my ISF, I went and looked at a 08 Mercury Silver ISF with 93K miles for $22.5 in KC from a private party. It was super clean and I even paid for a PPI at Lexus that I can send you the report on. The car was bone stock with the exception of the side view mirrors and front grill wrapped in a carbon fiber decal that you can easily remove.

You'll save money on sales tax purchasing through a private party owner and since there is a big gap in maintenance records on your car, there is not much benefit purchasing from a dealer. The price of around $20K sounds about right for ISF's over 100K. Like other members said, these cars are pretty solid even with 100K miles on them. Read the thread regarding the highest mileage on an ISF to ease your mind.

$20k sounds like a good deal to me.
