Had PPE headers and exhuast (both brand new) installed by Tommy Musicbox. I've noticed this ticking sound when doing cold starts but goes away after. Is this the same sound you guys are talking about? Or is it normal? It would be weird since these are new headers and there can't be a crack

That sounds like an exhaust leak, seriously doubt its a crack though. Its probably something easy like a gasket or something isnt tight enough. I have PPE EL headers and I have a difficult time sealing up my driver side header>catback flange.

Hard to distinguish from video. Maybe when car is warm and with hood open.

+1. Sounds like there is a leak at one cylinder.

Default Like a New Car...

Picked the car up from the shop last week. Old parts replaced with new OEM ones. Really happy with the results.
No more farm equipment sounds, micro-shimmies at idle, or macro-floppies during WOT up-shifts.
Just refined and responsive.

New starter sounds more enthusiastic, too.

Passenger-side (right) exhaust manifold weld failed at same location as everyone else's, at port nearest the firewall. It was deemed un-repairable, not sufficient parent material left for a reliable weld. Driver's-side (left) manifold was in good condition, no weld failures.

Anyone know a good place to recycle catalytic converters in Southern California?

Old transmission mount. I can compress it slightly with one hand.

Old motor mount. Mechanic estimated it had been compressed vertically at least 0.25in vs new one.

Mark DiBella of MD Automotive in Westminster, CA. He was Jackson Racing's lead mechanic. He has taken great care of me and my cars over the years. Highly recommended.

Nice that's good to have a trusted mechanic..

Did they do wheel alignment ? Assuming they dropped the front subframe.

Yes, he completely removed the subframe and steering rack.
Posted alignment report on another thread.

Apparently this place in CA just gave an ISF owner $1400 for his oem headers. Previous max I saw was $850 or so.

Thank you! I would almost take a 400-mile road trip to Fremont for that kind of compensation. I reached out to Arrow Recovery for a quote.

Ditto here now, 2011 ISF with 101k miles and noticeable exhaust smell when the HVAC recirc is outside air. I prefer to have OEM due to strict smog checks in CA since they check for cats now.
Anyone know of a shop in SCAL that will repair/weld the OEM header flanges? Thanks for anyones input.
