Anyone know of a shop in SCAL that will repair/weld the OEM header flanges? Thanks for anyones input.
The challenge with re-welding this part is that the floating-flange design does not leave much parent material at the failure location. The tube wall there is very thin. My mechanic advised against a re-weld repair.

Floating flange rotated away from failed weld.

Another view of failed weld, showing flange-side detail.

Sure a mechanic will say that. Talk to a welder...I know plenty of guys who'd have no issue at all welding this flange, and they're not even the ones who could weld an aluminum can back together. Those guys can weld anything.

I have mine re-welded sitting on the shelf, I'll grab some pics tomorrow. He decided to weld it on the inside of the flange/runner.

That's exactly how this should be done. If you do it right it will be a full penetration weld. Just clean it very well and mate the the loose piece exactly on the old fracture. Check with a ruler for straightness.

Recently bought my ISF back from a friend I sold it to six and a half years ago. I noticed the other day I have a weird tapping or ticking sound. I can't hear it from the engine bay or at startup. After driving for a while and coming to a stop you can hear it when you open the door and from the back of the driver side wheel area the most.

Here is a video I took. Those that have had this problem is this the sound you hear from it?

No idea why comments are disabled. I uploaded it from a phone as I have always done.

And that sucks it isn't the headers. Now onto more digging.

Wouldn't that noise be coming from the engine bay and up too? If I open the hood and listen you hear nothing. It's only once I get to the side of the car.
