The RCF headers are technically the "short tube" or "regular" I suppose EL headers, so they are technically available.

Wasn't sure if they directly fit on ISF's, thought they where tweaking them a bit before release.

^^^^They fit directly, however the exit needs to be reduced in size to fit the stock and aftermarket exhaust. The RCF has a bit larger exit.

How would you go about doing that?

^^^^When ordering headers from PPE tell them it's for an ISF and they'll use a collector and flange with a smaller outlet. It's not an issue.

Or, if you order your headers with a PPE exhaust system, they can use the same headers as the RCF (with the larger exit) and make the inlet on the exhaust correspondingly larger to match.

There is a $1200 difference between these and the regular unequal length shorties

$1500 vs $2750..................

Do you guys think the difference between the equal and unequal is worth the $1200?

Not bashing just curious..........

^^^^I've had both and I do! However, if your interested in sound, the EL headers greatly reduce the in cabin drone. Also the exterior sound at idle is changed. The UL header has a more rumblier rough idling sound. Almost like an old V8 with a cam. It's hard to describe and that sound comes through to the cabin when idling.

The EL header has a much smoother even sound and as I said with much less drone. I have PPEs dual mode exhaust, and with the UL header, when driving on the FW at the resonance RPM (1900 to 2100 RPM) I needed to close the exhaust when speaking on my cell phone (Using bluetooth). With the EL headers I can speak on the phone and not close the exhaust.

Edit - I guess you can call it a more refined sound

Thanks Lou for the explanation and first hand experience with both

Don't forget the extra $500 for long tubes. Then the cost to alter your exhaust system and (for me) a second header installation. Not to mention the difference between what I paid new for the UL tubes vs. what I'll recoup selling 'em used.

I ordered my equal length long tubes 2 weeks ago. Because I know that long tube equal length headers will provide more performance than short tubes across a wider rpm range.

So am I gathering from post #81 that PPE headers taper down to meet at the exhaust and create a choke point?

That's not good if so.

^^^^I wouldn't call it a choke point, it's just that the outlet flange size from the exhaust manifold/header is different on the ISF vs the RCF. An RCF header won't mate up to a non modified exhaust, either stock or third party, unless that exhaust is made by PPE.

I will obtain the difference in size an post here.

EDIT:

Flange Exit size Information:

ISF - 60mm (2.4")

RCF - 65mm (2.6")

Oh ok so it's tapering down to the size piping of the ISF. I was just hoping it wasn't chocked down on both sides. Meaning aftermarket exhausts taper down on inlet to match up to factory headers thus aftermarket headers taper down to match up as well.

Does it provide the same sound as novel EL headers? Is there a chance of a sound clip anytime soon?

We just sold a few of these sets that were just delivered last week. I will reach out to those customers to get videos and sound clips. I know the one guy has it paired with the Apexi exhaust and the other with the Meistershaft GTC.

Pretty quick turn around time as well on these headers.
